BUMPED UP: They have a deal this time.....pretty sure

CTU has found it in themselves to come to a vague agreement, (just in time to avoid making COBRA payments) the disingenuous bastards. "It was for the children".

Schools will be open Friday

The Chicago Teachers Union on Wednesday night said it had a tentative agreement, but will not be returning to work until Mayor Lori Lightfoot agrees to make up the 10 days they missed.

“We have a tentative agreement, but we do not have a return to work agreement. So we will be at City Hall at 10 a.m. to demand the mayor return our days,” the union said in a tweet.
The mayor has done a good job handling this group of socialist-inspired vagabonds. Don't give them one more thing. They will do anything to avoid the COBRA payments.

Chicago is trimming fewer trees at a higher cost because city crews rely on 311 requests, instead of proactively using a grid system to trim trees on a regular basis, Inspector General Joe Ferguson concluded Wednesday.
Ten years ago, a consultant hired by the Department of Streets and Sanitation concluded that switching to a grid system — already used for garbage collection and graffiti removal — could reduce travel times by 35 percent, cut costs by 60 percent and increase the daily productivity of tree trimming crews by a whopping 147 percent.
That would reduce a “significant backlog” that has forced parts of the city to wait ten years for tree trimming services.
On Wednesday, Ferguson chided the Department of Streets and Sanitation for ignoring the Monitor Group’s “overwhelming findings in favor of a grid-based approach” and continuing to

Shocked by the Bears’ 3-4 record? It’s abysmal as usual for the McCaskeys

With ownership tripping over itself to unveil statues and celebrate the glorious past, doesn’t it figure that present reality would bury the 2019 team’s Super Bowl hopes?

Creepy Joe: Sell back your assault weapons or register them with the government

Joe’s got a plan to end America’s gun violence. Funny how he and Obama couldn’t end gun violence while they were in office for eight years.
From Joe’s campaign web site:
“It’s within our grasp to end our gun violence epidemic and respect the Second Amendment, which is limited. As president, Biden will pursue constitutional, common-sense gun safety policies. Biden will:
Get weapons of war off our streets. The bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines that Biden, along with Senator Feinstein, secured in 1994 reduced the lethality of mass shootings. But, in order to secure the passage of the bans, they had to agree to a 10-year sunset provision and when the time came, the Bush Administration failed to extend them. As president, Biden will:
Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Federal law prevents hunters from hunting migratory game birds with more than three shells in their shotgun. That means our federal law does more to protect ducks than children. It’s wrong. Joe Biden will enact legislation to once again ban assault weapons. This time, the bans will be designed based on lessons learned from the 1994 bans. For example, the ban on assault weapons will be designed to prevent manufacturers from circumventing the law by making minor changes that don’t limit the weapon’s lethality. While working to pass this legislation, Biden will also use his executive authority to ban the importation of assault weapons
Regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act. Currently, the National Firearms Act requires individuals possessing machine-guns, silencers, and short-barreled rifles to undergo a background check and register those weapons with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Due to these requirements, such weapons are rarely used in crimes. As president, Biden will pursue legislation to regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act
Buy back the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines already in our communities. Biden will also institute a program to buy back weapons of war currently on our streets. This will give individuals who now possess assault weapons or high-capacity magazines two options: sell the weapons to the government, or register them under the National Firearms Act.
Reduce stockpiling of weapons. In order to reduce the stockpiling of firearms, Biden supports legislation restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase per month to one.”

The news that a state senator has been wearing a wire for the past 3 years has to be un-nerving for those that are predisposed to corruption. Who is it?  Tribune reports Senator Terry Link as the wire wearer.

Equaling troubling for those, is the Arroyo arrest and the thought that perhaps his phones and text have been recorded for a few years too.

Both of these suggest a treasure trove of evidence and hints as to how wide-spread these investigations are. Who else is wearing a wire? Who else's phone is taped.

Jezebel uses psychological projection against First Lady Melania

Posted on  by

Hillary accuses Donald and Melania Trump of being Ahab and Jezebel!

And she did this while giving a “eulogy” at Elijah Cummings funeral! How often have we seen the Clintons using a funeral as a political springboard for their personal advantage? When Bill used to do that, they called it “sucking all the air out of the room.”
Let’s get some points here.
  • Bill Clinton started a war in the Balkans (on the wrong side) to distract the press from his affair with his secretary.
  • Hillary is a champion of Planned Parenthood.
  • Both Clintons are recorded as being passengers on numerous flights to “Pedophile Island.”
  • “Arkanside” and the “Arkansas Flu” are accepted parts of the language, and refer to the large number of people who have died after becoming a liability to the Clintons.
  • The Clintons celebrated their honeymoon at the home of a voodoo priestess in Haiti.
We could go on an on, but you get the point.
On the other hand:
  • Donald Trump has worked for religious liberty since entering office.
  • He has de-funded Planned Parenthood.
  • He has been steadily breaking up powerful pedophile rings in America and around the world, to rescue innocent children from sexual exploitation.
  • Melania refused to move into the White House until there had been an exorcism performed in the building.
  • Melania’s first words at her husband’s inauguration were to pray the “Our Father,” the most important Christian prayer.
So I ask, who are the real Ahab and Jezebel?

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is dealing with a 12-day-old teachers strike that features a contest between the most radical union in the U.S. and one of the nation's most radical mayors.
It's not going to end well for her.
When the strike began she told the teachers "there is no more money." All that did was whet the appetite for battle by the teachers who are now almost certainly going to get almost all of what they want.
Lightfoot is being hit over the head by reality.
“We spent the last 14 hours bargaining today, and we are not close to where we need to be on the big issues,” said Sybil Madison, deputy mayor for education. “We’re going to return tomorrow and work diligently to close the divide.”
Soon after, Chicago Teachers Union president Jesse Sharkey and vice president Stacy Davis Gates said that the union’s most recent proposal asks for an additional $38 million in funds over the city’s last offer.
“That’s the distance that remains between the two parties,” Sharkey said. “We feel like we need to be able to get there.
Sure, why not? It's only $38 million. And that's Lightfoot's problem. The city is facing an $800 million budget shortfall and the union is perfectly willing to exacerbate it. Not their problem and not their money. They apparently don't see why the city council can't just slap a few more cents on the dozens of taxes that residents are already paying. Piece of cake.
Lightfoot has discovered that there is no limit to the appetite of the constituencies generated by government spending. She has learned that the special interests bargaining for higher benefits also desire policies that make such benefits unattainable. I hope she’s taking notes.
Chicago Public Schools has run a deficit for the past seven years. Why? Pensions granted to earlier generations of teachers are expensive. And the cost is growing. A quarter of the school budget is devoted to benefits — money that can’t be spent on classrooms, facilities, and instruction. Expect that number to rise as America goes gray and the bill comes due for the promises we made to ourselves.
The federal government can put Social Security and Medicare on the credit card for as long as demand for U.S. Treasuries is high. States and municipalities don’t have that luxury. There is an upper bound to what even the most progressive mayors and governors can grant the lobbies that mobilize voters for their campaigns. But it’s a glass ceiling. Public sector unions are eager to break it.
Chicago reached that "upper bound" years ago and residents have been voting with their feet. In their eagerness to sate the appetite for tax dollars, public unions' ever-escalating demands have made Chicago the only major city of the top five to lose population over the previous decade.

Perspective on Trump

"Mr. Trump, who rarely exposes himself to hostile crowds, stood, smiled gamely and clapped as the fans booed loudly."

"Some in the section below him turned to him, shouting and jabbing fingers. The president, who faces impeachment by the House over his efforts to pressure Ukraine to provide incriminating information about Democrats, then found himself on the receiving end of a chant that might have sounded familiar. 'Lock him up!' the crowd chanted, a turnabout from the 'lock her up' his supporters would chant about Hillary Clinton in 2016. Mr. Trump offered no noticeable reaction and took his seat as the game resumed before slipping out in the eighth inning."

From "For Trump, No Joy in Mudville/In his first appearance at a Major League Baseball game since taking office, the president was booed at Game 5 of the World Series at Washington’s Nationals Park" (NYT).
