What will happen in 2020?

THORNER: WILL WE KEEP OUR REPUBLIC IN 2020, OR WILL WE BOW TO SOCIALISM?

G25z622mhwd11By Nancy Thorner -
If you missed the latest 3-hour Democrat debate on Tuesday, October 15th, you are to be envied. Although Anderson Cooper, who was joined by fellow CNN host Erin Burnett and NY Times national editor Marc Lacey, warned the twelve contenders that if they spoke over their allotted 75 seconds, the time would be deducted later, it never happened.  What’s more, they all knew that would never happen.
Listening to twelve Democrats trying to prove they are deserving of your vote and blaming Republicans and President Trump for everything wrong in the world was far from an enjoyable experience. That is not to say President Trump is perfect, that he has never made a mistake, but name a single President who after serving several years in that top position could claim themselves perfect, except perhaps Barack Obama, who in
May of this year told an audience at a  Las Vegas tech conference that his presidency had been "scandal-free."
Candidates tried to outdo each do when speaking about pricey programs involving gigantic price tags with no realistic way to pay for them. Could they really be ignorant of the fact Socialism only works until those paying the bills run out of money?   History proves Socialism may seem great on paper, and Americans are generous people who are not opposed to helping those in need, but it has never worked whenever and wherever tried. Such is in harmony with how stupidity is often defined, as “doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."
Bernie Sanders, besides giving himself a clean bill of health, let us know that he is still at war with billionaires and made a point of alerting us to the fact that three men have as much wealth as the bottom 50% of the population, and that he, for one, isn’t afraid to call it a moral outrage.
Sanders, however, neglected to identify the three wealthiest Americans, perhaps because they are all generous contributors to the Democrat party (Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett).   Even if Bernie confiscated the wealth of all three men in order to finance his ludicrous plans to erase student debt and introduce Medicare for All, the money wouldn’t come close to covering the $3 trillion a year required to pay for his Communist dreams.
Democrats candidates continue to advocate for open borders, unlimited immigration, confiscating your guns, legalizing abortion up until the moment of birth, and/or stripping churches of their tax status if they preach biblical traditional values.  Strikingly absent, however, are reference to God or moral values and issues.
How political parties view God
God is now in the platforms of both the Republican and Democrat parties.   After much criticism, the 2012 Democrat Platform was updated to reflect "Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel," as well as language referencing God, when it became apparent that the exclusion of God was not playing well with more conservative members of the Democrat Party.
Having ignored Christian conservatives for many years, and even accusing them of bigotry, a shift is happening in the Democrat Party.  Christian conservatives, many who vote Republican, are a significant block of voters Democrats now have in their sights on to win over.  Many main-line Protestant churches have already exchanged the Biblical message for one of social justice on political issues, such as illegal immigration, guns, abortion, same sex marriage, etc.
Mayor Pete Buttigieg has been described as more than other candidates to be willing to push conservatives on the nature of their religiosity and to go on the offensive. He is quick to contrast the liberal churches’ approach with a critique of conservative Christians who back policies such as family separation and other issues that relate to public policy.  Buttigieg was also the first 2020 presidential candidate to hire a faith outreach director.
In an article by Eliza Griswold titled Teaching Democrats to Speak Evangelical, Griswold chronicled the efforts of Pastor Doug Pagitt to train Democratic members of Congress on how to speak to evangelicals. For almost two decade activist Pagitt has been leading the conversation on progressive faith and politics  The vehicle for this marketing effort is Vote Common Good, the name of an organization that Pagitt launched last year to make the religious left more visible.  Robb Ryerse, a self-described former fundamentalist pastor and the political director of Vote Common Good, opened a recent training meeting for Democratic members of Congress without the usual prayer.
What Pagitt and Vote Common Good are doing is giving Democrats the tools to entice Evangelicals and other religious culturally conservative voters to abandon the practical application of their faith to everyday life.
As Griswold wrote: "The problem in America today is not that religion is being forced on others, but that irreligion and secular values are being forced on people of faith by Democrats." Democrats who take money from Planned Parenthood and other anti-Biblical and secularist interests must be called out when they start talking the language of the Gospel to justify themselves."  As Matthew 7:15 states: "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Winning the battle for God and country
It has been said that Donald Trump won the election because many voters did not like the direction Democrats had drifted, including, but not limited to, a lack of respect for the Christian church.
Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar made these remarks at the Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C., Oct. 11-13, 2019: "I’m so proud to say HHS and its team have never fought more fiercely to protect life at all stages, from conception to natural death. That is thanks above all to the work, the leadership, and the courage of President Trump, the most pro-life president in American history."
It is evident our Founders envisioned a self-governing Christian republic with our God-given rights   protected by government, not a democracy.  A democracy, as we later saw after the French revolution, can too quickly devolve into a mobocracy. In France, the revolt against the royals led to a bloody reign of terror led by Robespierre and featuring the guillotine. In the United States, it led to the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rightsand the first and only reluctant president, General Washington.
As John Adams wrote to the Officers of the first Brigade of the third Division of the Militia of Massachusetts on October 11, 1798:  "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
Donald Trump is a president who respects the Christian church. Conservative Republicans must remind others of statements made in past debates and now by Democrats who appear to attack the Church and, in doing so, stifle religious expressions. Whether “believers” or not, Trump is applauded for his many successes, such as a strong economy and increases in wages, which families view favorably. Why then are many Republican conservatives claiming we are one election away from losing many of our traditional American values, and our country as well, if liberal, progressive Democrat wins in 2020?
Disconcerting, if accurate, are Pew Research Center telephone surveysconducted in 2018 and 2019: 65% of American adults describe themselves as Christians when asked about their religion, down 12 percentage points over the past decade. Meanwhile, the religiously unaffiliated share of the population, consisting of people who describe their religious identity as atheist, agnostic or “nothing in particular,” now stands at 26%, up from 17% in 2009.
Also troubling is the demand for Socialism which is on the rise today from young Americans, many of whom believe they are deserving of free stuff being offered with no strings attached.
This article by C. Bradley Thompson tells the blunt truth:  Socialism vs. Capitalism: Which is the Moral System
Voters will be tested in the 2020 election.  Will they choose to keep our Constitutional Republic by re-electing President Trump, or will they select the progressive, Socialist path offered by Democrat presidential candidates.  Every effort must be made to educate the public before it's too late.
