ROME — Chicago native Wilton Gregory became the Roman Catholic Church’s first African American cardinal during a Vatican ceremony Saturday as Pope Francis elevated a total of 13 men to the highest rank in the Catholic hierarchy.
The appointment of Cardinal Gregory — the Washington D.C. archbishop who was born and ordained in Chicago — comes after a year of racial protests in the U.S. sparked by the latest killing of a Black man by a white police officer. Francis has endorsed the protests and cited the American history of racial injustices.
Before being elevated, Gregory told the Associated Press that he viewed his appointment as “an affirmation of Black Catholics in the United States, the heritage of faith and fidelity that we represent.”
“There is awareness now of the need for racial reconciliation, an awareness that I have not seen at this level and at this intensity before,” Gregory said.

Backlash as Brennan Blasts Killing of Iranian Nuclear Scientist: ‘Always on the Side of our Enemies’
Following Iran’s announcement that the head of its nuclear program, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, was assassinated on Friday afternoon, Obama-era CIA Director John Brennan set off a storm after criticizing the “criminal” killing.
In response to the Iranian scientist’s death, which was labelled a “major psychological and professional blow for Iran,” Brennan was quick to publicize his condemnation.
Brennan, an ardent defender of the Obama Iran nuclear agreement, also referred to the assassination as “an act of state-sponsored terrorism” which he claimed was “a flagrant violation of international law.”
Brennan’s comments received fierce backlash.
“It’s bizarre to see a former head of the CIA consistently side with Iranian zealots who chant ‘Death to

'Amy Covid Barrett' Trends as Left Goes 'Absolutely Crazy' Over 5-4 SCOTUS Ruling on Religious Gatherings
By Mike Miller | Nov 27, 2020 10:30 AM ET
“Almost” as enjoyable as the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision to block New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s order limiting the size of religious gatherings — ostensibly to fight against the spread of COVID — has been watching the predictable apoplectic meltdown on the Left.
Moreover, the enjoyment is made extra special by knowing that they know SCOTUS might well not have even taken up the case — just as it refused to do in two similar cases earlier this year — if Amy Coney Barrett were not on the Court to cast the tie-breaker.
And best of all is knowing that the Democrat Party and its dancing monkeys in the liberal media know
Flu unto others: Cardinal Dolan hails Supreme Court's shocking 'religious freedom' ruling, government cannot micro-regulate worship, and I wish my Irish cousins would stop drinking the Kool Aid being served to them by the globalist
On Wednesday the Supreme Court delivered a ruling that will expose New Yorkers to unrestricted, potentially super-spreader religious gatherings.
In their often shockingly bitter five to four decision - delivered from the safety of their own homes in the middle of an out of control national pandemic - the ultraconservative Justices ruled that New York may not impose a 10-person limit on attendance at houses of worship in COVID-19 hotspots.
The ruling is not merely controversial, under the circumstances it's arguably homicidal.
And in an irony that many missed the court's ruling was announced on the same day Pope Francis

In 2016 the American presidential election was not so much blue state versus red state as blue urban centers versus everywhere else. That pattern repeated itself this year, as voting results in the deep blue cities of Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Detroit, Philadelphia, and Atlanta spelled the difference between a Trump victory and a win for Biden.
Leave it to others to question the legitimacy of votes in these deep blue cities. Suffice to say it would insult the intelligence of any honest observer of politics to suggest no irregularities occurred, when, for example

Joe Biden, if he becomes president, could be in danger from his own party, suggests talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh.
It's because the Democrats favored candidates from the far left during their primary but knew none of them could win the White House.
So they put an extremist on the ballot as vice president, Kamala Harris, and once Biden is in office, he's

European security officials are worried that outgoing president Donald Trump will trigger a military conflict with Iran in order to tie President-Elect Joe Biden's hands, sources tell Insider.
They also fear that Israel and Saudi Arabia may see the departure of Trump as a ticking clock they need to beat.
"Both countries are run by immature leaders who have been screaming about the need for war with Iran for so long it's possible they really believe that a Biden administration will be followed by an Iranian nuclear attack," one source told Insider.

Gov. Pritzker said he has become accustomed to the “vitriol” spewed at him — occasionally anti-Semitic in nature — as leader of the state but warned “my kids are off limits.”

An emotional Gov. J.B. Pritzker clarified his family’s Thanksgiving plans on Tuesday, saying his wife and teenage daughter plan to remain in Florida “indefinitely” after a false social media post sparked “hateful, threatening messages” directed at the high school student.
Pausing briefly to clear his throat before discussing the matter at his daily coronavirus briefing, the Democratic governor said the posts falsely portrayed his daughter as flouting COVID-19 restrictions at an outdoor restaurant with friends, igniting a firestorm directed at the girl even after the governor’s office had made it clear she was not in the photograph.
“That was a lie,” Pritzker said. “It wasn’t her.”

Coverup? What do you think?
Imagine your child goes out for the night and you get a phone call that he or she is hurt and on the way to the hospital. A few days later, the child is dead. Would you want an explanation? Would you want the police to do something? Would you want the states attorney to do something? What if they failed to act because.............. the suspect was connected? How would you feel? The following was in todays paper.
Facing the possibility of coming under scrutiny by a special prosecutor, the Cook County state’s attorney’s office and the Chicago Police Department are, for the first time, offering an explanation for why, just hours into the case, detectives abruptly dropped the David Koschman investigation and didn’t pick it up again for 15 days:
The two detectives assigned to the case went on vacation.
Hours after detectives Rita O’Leary and Robert Clemens had learned that Koschman was in a coma, with a fractured skull and swollen brain, the police stopped talking with witnesses — apparently, a top police
Now that Inslee is planning his third coronation as Governor of Washington State, and he feels politically safe enough – he is back to inventing massive new citizen lockdown mandates as dictated by the Governor’s office (no legislature involved). Inslee demands that these lockdown dictates not be called “lockdowns” due to the negative connotations of this word. The tame media will probably obey him. However, this punishment of the peasant residents (the term “citizen” is considered triggering in the land

A Six-week Lockdown?
Horror succeeds horror… the virus is once again amok.
The United States reported over 145,000 fresh cases Wednesday — a record. We are told daily fatalities near 2,000.
A vaccine is not yet ready. What, then, is to be done?
A four-to-six week national “lockdown” — with little room for escape?
If the man from Delaware seizes the White House… as expected… you may have one.

A great-grandson of Mayor Richard J. Daley has called out several members of his extended family, accusing them of being “committed to white supremacy” in an open letter published last week.
In “A Letter to My Cousins,” published Wednesday in South Side Weekly, Bobby Vanecko calls his great-grandfather a “horribly racist mayor” and points to great-uncle Richard M. Daley’s involvement “in covering up evidence of Chicago police torture.”

The civil action (pdf), filed on Thursday, alleges that there is “sufficient evidence that illegal votes were counted” in Milwaukee, Dane, and Menominee counties “to change or place in doubt the results” of the presidential election in the counties. The voters asked the court to declare that the counties’ results “must be invalidated” and to block the counties from certifying their results.
Biden’s Great Leap Forward: A split second in Wisconsin
I live in Switzerland and was working at my computer the morning after the U.S. election when I was stunned to see the Fox election map suddenly do something completely unnatural: in a split second between 3 A.M. and 4 A.M. U.S. Central Time, the Wisconsin icon switched from light-red Trump to light-blue Biden. In that same instant, the probability meter, which had been very accurate in 2016, likewise jerked from a 77% Trump likelihood to over 80% Biden. With Biden behind, at 3:42 A.M. on the night of the election bagged a net of 118,215 votes in a single massive data dump to take a narrow lead.
CHICAGO - Chicago-based Wirepoints.com points to stats and says COVID fatalities are down dramatically as positivity rates mount once again.
Lost in the attention given to Illinois’ massive spike in COVID-19 cases is the collapse in the virus’ case fatality rate, or CFR. At the height of the crisis in June, almost 5 percent of Illinois’ recordedCOVID cases resulted in deaths. But as recorded cases have risen significantly over the past three months and deaths have not, the fatality rate from August through today has dropped to just 0.9 percent.
The latest COVID data is quickly revealing how less fatal the coronavirus really is, and that has major implications for lockdown policies and, in particular, for school shutdowns.
That drop in the case fatality rate reflects a dramatic increase in the number of COVID tests being performed, a significant increase in rates of infection among younger Illinoisans and reportedly better overall treatment of the virus.
Illinois’ CFR is gradually dropping toward what the Center for Disease Control estimates is the virus’ true infection fatality rate(IFR), about 0.65 percent. In contrast to the case fatality rate, the IFR includes estimates of all infections, including asymptomatic cases, not just reported cases.
It’s important to note that the 0.9 percent case fatality rate reported above is an average across all age groups and it’s still heavily influenced upward by the high death rate for those 80 and older. The actual CFR for the younger age brackets is dramatically lower. We break out those numbers in a following section.

BREAKING – As cases of electioneering interference, voter fraud, and voting system malfunctions continue to mount, President Trump took to Twitter on Thursday morning to report that “DOMINION DELETED 2.7 MILLION TRUMP VOTES NATIONWIDE.”
Researchers have questioned the reliability of new voting machines that state and local officials have rushed to implement at their polling locations ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
“Some of the most popular ballot-marking machines, made by Election Systems & Software and Dominion Voting Systems, register votes in bar codes that the human eye cannot decipher,” according to a February report by Associated Press.
But according to researchers, that’s a problem, as “voters could end up with printouts that accurately spell out the names of the candidates they picked, but, because of a hack, the bar codes do not reflect those
As he honored the nation’s veterans Wednesday, Rev. Franklin Graham observed that America “is under attack – attack from within.”
“Today we honor all of our military veterans who have served to defend the freedoms of this nation, and the blood that has been shed for us and for future generations,” the Christian evangelist said in a post on Facebook. “We owe them a great debt.”
Graham, who has continually urged prayers for President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, continued:
It seems our nation is under attack—attack from within, from socialists who want to bring anarchy to our streets. The hard-won freedoms that we have enjoyed in America are very much at stake. Pray for the President, our Commander-in-Chief, as he leads the nation during these turbulent times, that God would give him wisdom, grace, and understanding for times such as these.
Appearing on Newsmax TV’s America Right Now, Graham, the president of Samaritan’s Purse, a global humanitarian aid ministry, said he fears “an attack on Christian businesses, like we saw during
