These people would have your sons marched off to Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iran and Pakistan in order to spread democracy. These are the same people that talked GW Bush into invading Iraq.

A number of prominent neocons calling themselves “GOP national security leaders”—including Michael Chertoff, Max Boot, Eric Edelman and Robert Kagan—have penned an open letter stating their opposition to the candidacy of Donald Trump.
“We the undersigned, members of the Republican national security community, represent a broad spectrum of opinion on America’s role in the world and what is necessary to keep us safe and prosperous. We have disagreed with one another on many issues, including the Iraq war and intervention in Syria. But we are united in our opposition to a Donald Trump presidency,” the letter, posted at the War on the Rocks website, states.
“Mr. Trump’s own statements lead us to conclude that as president, he would use the authority of his office to act in ways that make America less safe, and which would
diminish our standing in the world. Furthermore, his expansive view of how presidential power should be wielded against his detractors poses a distinct threat to civil liberty in the United States. Therefore, as committed and loyal Republicans, we are unable to support a Party ticket with Mr. Trump at its head. We commit ourselves to working energetically to prevent the election of someone so utterly unfitted to the office.”
On Wednesday Politico ran an article titled “Neocons declare war on Trump” and linked to the open letter.
Politico quotes Eliot Cohen, a former top State Department official under Bush “and a strategic theorist who argues for a muscular U.S. role abroad.”
“Hillary is the lesser evil, by a large margin,” says Cohen, signaling that neocons and Republicans may abandon the party.
Infowars.com ran an article early Tuesday covering the flight of the neocons from the Republican to the Democrat party (the neocons began in the Democrat party).
The Intercept also covered the spectacle.
“Trump has done much to trigger the scorn of neocon pundits. He denounced the Iraq War as a mistake based on Bush administration lies, just prior to scoring a sizable victory in the South Carolina GOP primary. In last week’s contentious GOP presidential debate, he defended the concept of neutrality in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which is utterly taboo on the neocon right,” writes Zaid Jilani.
Politico continues:
Several other neocons said they find themselves in an impossible position, constitutionally incapable of voting for Clinton but repelled by a Republican whose foreign policy views they consider somewhere between nonexistent and dangerous — and disconnected from their views about American power and values abroad.
Max Boot, a leading neocon and CFR member, tweeted his disagreement:

All these mainstream Republicans "shunning" Trump. All subjective speculation about what his presidency would be like. Again, its all speculation. Romney is calling him a phony and suggesting Trumps tax returns hide something.
What we do know for sure is that the past 2 terms under Obama, the Republicans haven't done a damn thing. The assurances of maintaining your existing health care turned out to be a big lie, as were the promises of lower health insurance premiums. Amnesty, immigration, raising the debt ceiling; all things the majority party could have done something about and they didn't do a fucking thing. Now, a businessman who utilized existing laws to offset his losses is being painted as a con-man, liar, and inept.
If inept were to be clearly defined, you wouldn't have to look any further than the power brokers that have been controlling Congress during the Obama administration. They don't represent us, the voters who put them there, they represent the large money interests that financed their campaigns. So who do you want to believe. Whatever political inexperience Trump possess, at least he's been honest about where his money has gone to, politicians of both parties. Its business. Can any of us say that Secretary of States Clinton and Kerry have accomplished anything besides having our ambassadors in Benghazi executed and ignored his requests for more security, of Kerry giving away the store to Iran. Or the entire movement of "Black Lives Matter", have any mainstream politicians refuted the whole "Hands up - Don't shoot" scam that started in Ferguson and spread across the country resulting in the finger pointing and accusations at police departments across the country while laying no responsibility for black on black crime where it belongs. ALL total bullshit.
But a guy steps up and says enough, calls out the mainstream republican candidates for being mouthpieces for the super pacs and all of us sudden, the panic spreads that maybe the voters might have an actual say about the shift of power and influence. Back in 2008, the country gave inexperienced do-nothing Obama an opportunity for hope and change. We had 8 years of that. Trump is slick, he's rich, he knows the one on one of doing whats best for him and his companies. So what's wrong with that. Are you supposed to go into business to lose money? I'd say screw the likes of Mitt Romney, Karl Rove and all the other politicos that have had their chance and blew it. Its like the mainstream Republicans have shit their pants and are now looking to blame somebody else for their smelly mess.

    And freshman Florida Senator Marco Rubio, who has been calling Trump a con man has a few skeletons in his closet that may give the voters a reason to question is presidential attributes. This was posted a few days ago;
Marco Rubio’s Gay Arrest Scandal Could END HIS CAMPAIGN

Just before Marco Rubio’s 19th birthday, police reports show that a cop was sent to Alice C. Wainwright Park in Miami, Florida.

Apparently at age 18, he violated the municipal code rules about drinking in a park. However, the police incident report never mentions alcohol!

Instead, Marco was arrested for being in a car after the park’s closing time with his male friend Angel Barrios. To locals, the park was well-known as a place for homosexuals for cruising.

The Washington Post implies what really happened (noting the park’s problem with people having sex in the park and the frequency of gay prostitution) and it’s clear this arrest is something that Marco Rubio would rather not talk about.

A local homeowners association’s newsletter documented the complaints of neighbors: “Gang warfare, gunfire, prostitution (straight and gay), drug dealing and muggings.” Police were attuned to the complaints because of a pattern of problems at the park, said Delrish Moss, a Miami police public information officer and a 32-year veteran of the department.

“It was very dark and had lots of trees,” he said. “People went out there to smoke illegal substances, have sex, drink.”

A full account of what led to Rubio’s arrest and the dismissal of the charge are not included in available public records. The court file has been destroyed, according to Miami-Dade County court clerk’s records.

Maybe Rubio should change HIS last name to Cruise.

This morning's speech by Mitt Romney was one of the most classless, sleazy acts of desperation the presidential campaign has seen so far. His speech parroted last week's debate performance by Rubio. You watch this stuff and think that if you were playing poker with these guys, and they made aces and deuces wild, they'd wait until all the cards were dealt and then tell you it was 3's and 9's.

In the meantime, the strategy is to keep the remaining candidates in the race in an effort to deny Trump the delegates necessary for the nomination. What a sleezy bunch of bastards these guys are. An earlier post mentioned the republican control of both houses of congress for the last four years afforded them the time to advance an agenda. Instead the obvious lack of leadership resulted in continued problems with the debt ceiling, undocumented illegal aliens, weakened military among other issues. And now these same people want to keep their seats, despite their inability to do their jobs and continue to ignore the wishes of voters that put them there.

I'm troubled that O'Shea would risk body and limb for anything. He is much too valuable to the neighborhood.

No coincidence that none of the "GOP national security experts" are of the Catholic faith. They will certainly not be sending any of their children over to fight their wars.

Trump and neocons. Hmm, once he gets it that Israel's formidable military assures our safety he might learn a thing or two. Israel would vaporize any of it's neighbors in a heartbeat if need be and we need to get it as well. Next, the real issue this election season is not the personalities of these people but the cold hard reality of the turnouts for the Repubs. Sumpin happenin here and it a'int clear why so many otherwise indifferent voters are coming out in huge numbers. In part, because so many under 40's are unemployed or unemployable due to shitty schooling or perhaps they want to get back at the 'man'. Maybe seniors who are tired of the same ole black victimization mantra.
Next Hilary is toast after yesterday now that this kid got immunity and that will unsettle the local politicos who love the old guard and their support for same sex marriage and unfunded pensions. Good news is that the Republs will back whoever wins and if Hilary gets indicted we might survive. Illinois however, down the tubes and y'all know why.

As much as I despise Hillary Clinton and the theatrics she pulled off at the Congressional Benghazi hearings, I'm skeptical that the Justice Department will indict her before the conventions. The feds move ploddingly slow. She's gotten more mileage out of the "right wing conspiracy" bullshit and I'm sure she'll find some "right wingers" in her own party to pin this on. But a thought occurred to me that if Trump gets past the roadblocks Romney and the rest are tossing in his way and actually gets elected, do you think he'll give his one time Apprentice candidate, Rod Blagojevich a pardon?
