Bob Hoff

Fire Commissioner Robert Hoff just resigned. Reason for the abruptness is unknown. A great leader and a true loss for the Department.

The Commissioner is a real guy. He let Rahm know in no uncertain terms that he is nobody's patsy and that he could not work for somebody who has no respect for the uniform. It is a shame that we lost Bob Hoff . It is also a shame that we have so many cowards in the 19th ward leadership that are scared of a mayor who hates our ward.

Rahm wanted him out because he wouldnt go along with personnel cuts. Get used to it people. Wait until you try to get your pension.

I am not a member of the CFD. This stinks. He was pushed, with both hands tied behind his back.

Rahm has stated that changes in technology equates to less of a need for manpower. What hasn't changed is the dedication, bravery and teamwork of the members of the Chicago Fire Department. Fireman are still dying in the line of duty and no amount technology can replace the heart and instinct of a Chicago Firefighter. Any changes in manpower will equate to more injuries to both the public and the Chicago Firemen and Women. We have a great deal of firefighters in our community and our local officials should have the courage to step up on their behalf.

rahm wants the 5th man on all fire rigs cut,now im all for making cuts when they are needed but make the cuts in non public saftey spots! lets start with cutting 25 aldermen! sooner or later someone will die at fires because of the first due companies were short two men,and it will be both firefighters and us taxpayers!

While I appreciate Bob Hoff as a stand up guy - the unfortunate reality is that we can no longer afford the salaries and pensions offered to many in the public sector without making some adjustments. They simply are not sustainable. When someone can retire at 45 or 50 with pensions that are above the working income of the average middle class person in Chicago, then something is wrong. I do not know of any Firefighter who does not hold down a second job/business etc...IF a huge liberal Democrat, Obama kool aid drinker like Emanuel is cutting back - then you know the situation is bad. Some practical cut backs are necessary, maybe hold down any salary increases for a few years. After all, the real working man in Chicago has probably had his income CUT over the past 3-4 years! Sometimes 20-40 percent, not to mention those who lost their jobs and had to take a new job well below their prior salary. These are very tough times - EVERYONE needs to make some sacrifices.... Just sayin....

Just because your job doesn't give the same kind of pension, don't hate on other people. Fact: most cops and firefighters don't live years and years after retirement. I know many guys who only made it a couple years and died (due to years of stress, midnight shifts, etc). Doesn't sound like two years is draining a lot. Fact: they don't get social security. As far as working two jobs, I always thought a strong work ethic was an American value. If working 2 or 3 jobs and making money is your thing, so what! What would you prefer, everybody work one low paying job and we're all on the dole?

I know that if my house was on fire Comm. Hoff would come in and get my children out along with the men under his command. A true leader. The citizens of Chicago will miss him.

Now we know how teachers feel. I hope Hoff did tell Emmanuel where to go. When there is no room for a man like Hoff, we all lose. It's true that pensions are a thing of the past, but Emmanuel was not so pejorative on his TIFs. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. The goose gets carved while the gander crows.

I hear 20 and 50 is one of the major things that may be going on the chopping block.. It one of the many things the city couldn't afford and helped put the city in the financial mess its in now. Thank you again Jayne Byrne.

After the strike the camaraderie was gone, many hated the job and left before age 60. Hence a BIG reason why the pension fund is under funded since there are more people on the pension fund than it was ever designed for.

Pensions are next to go. It isn't going to be the lush 20 at 50 anymore. Probably going to cut staffing at police and fire to the bone, probably because we are paid well, but remember that next time shots are fired or a building is burning down. Also think of it this way if the average Police/Fire costs the city $100,000 a year total if you are able to cut 3,000-4,000 police and 1,500 or so fire you can do the math. But remember there go 4-5 thousand law abiding/tax paying households that make up the great neighborhoods of the city that are slowly eroding away.

A forex broker works as an intermediary between the trader and the interbank system.

The interbank is a term that refers to networks of banks that trade with each other.

Forex broker will offer a price from the banks of which they have lines of credit
and access to forex liquidity. Many forex brokers make use of multiple banks for pricing, and they’ll offer
the best one in the access.
