This was stupid!

Lake Shore Drive renamed to honor DuSable

The City Council passed the hybrid name for Outer Lake Shore Drive — a compromise that had collapsed earlier this week, before being revived. Officially, the road will be Jean Baptiste Point DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

By voting for this name change, they are saying that the blacks don't have any other blacks that they can name streets after. Give me a break. How self-depreciating can one sink? How insulting to the culture.

On another topic, how many blacks will die of gunfire this weekend? Does anybody care about that?

And wandering out of his years long coma is the popcorn theft victim Bobby Rush who wants to name Interstate 57 after Obama. Chicagoans and Illinoisans must be so proud that we have the most inept representation in the United States Congress.

It’s a sad day. I don’t know what else to say. Lake Shore Drive is iconic. No true Chicagoan would ever or could ever refer to that stretch of road as anything other than Lake Shore Drive. Leave politics out of it. Gender neutral. Race neutral. Politics neutral. LSD. WTF is going on in this city/country???

Chicago is turning into Detroit much faster than I thought.

The only historical description of DuSable is he was or swarthy or dark complected the same description as would be used for most of the residents of the south of France. It is most likely he wasn't black at all.

Screw them, its still Lake Shore Drive, Comiskey Park, Chicago Stadium and Sears Tower. Thats what they were called when they were built, and that's what I call them now. You'd think there was a crime epidemic the way these A-holes waste taxpayer money when innocent people are being slaughtered in our streets. Hope someone publishes the way the alder people voted on this one.
