BUMPED UP.....Pot calling the kettle black

honest and competent or corrupt and incompetent?

Mayoral candidate Toni Preckwinkle has announced that recent revelations about Ald. Edward Burke are troubling and that as mayor, one of her first steps will be to remove Burke from the post of Budget committee chair. Preckwinkle is pretty fast to pull the trigger on Burke but consider her own troubles:

• She fired her 4th Chief of Staff after repeated complaints about sexual harassment of Cook County employees.
• She fired her driver 22 months after her county owned vehicle was found abandoned in Lemont township. A search of the vehicle  revealed campaign materials for Kimberly Foxx, a follower of and recipient of Preckwinkle favors. Questions about the incident to Preckwinkle were met with a denial that her county owned vehicle was used for police purposes and a statement that she was mystified as to how this happened. 
• She controls the Cook County Inspector General's Office and the Cook County Board of Ethics both of which is in the habit of selective enforcement of  Cook County ethical rules, depending upon political considerations. During the past few years these agencies has put out more than a few hoax stories and are always providing cover for Preckwinkle and her allies. 
• Has hired thousands of patronage workers and awarded substantial pay raises to her loyalist; which is the reason why she is compelled to continually raise taxes.
• Has accepted a million dollar campaign donation from a union. Is it in reality a kick-back for excessive pay raises?

Preckwinkle needs to come clean with her own issues before she pontificates about cleaning up the city of Chicago.
