This seems to be happening now. Will this other gas gouging occur before or after we get it stuck in our ass with the annual transition to "summer blends" bullshit they hit us with every year. I recommend getting the GasBuddy app for your cell phone. It has me driving to Crestwood and Midlothian to save about a quarter a gallon.

Nice time for Ford to be phasing out cars and shifting production to large vehicles.

We have heard this fear mongering over and over again. Supply and demand. That is what ULTIMATELY,(in the long run), determines prices. Right NOW OPEC is artificially lowering the supply they add to the market to try to keep prices up. It wont work. Fracking and increased oil production worldwide and especially in the US is keeping the supply level from dropping terribly. So OPEC is just cutting their profits because they are cutting the supply they sell. But since the market is now a bit "freer" with the US and also Russia supplying more oil than before, their tactic will not work. They are simply cutting their income. And they cant do that for very long. (Brought to you by - "Economics - 101") something very few gullible Americans understand - at all.

I'm sure someone will blame this all on Alderman O'Shea.

Is that supposed to mean that this blog picks on Matt? Hah. The administrator sticks up for him most of the time. Matt has done a good job all in all. However, he seems to be far more preoccupied with politics outside of our ward lately and there have been some problems percolating right here locally we would like to see resolved. Gangster funerals, total traffic snarling by the Beverly Car Wash. Car break ins. Garage break ins. Western Ave general crime. Complete cluster with traffic east of WEstern with utility repairs. Metra shutting down the weekend of the home tour. Time to bring the troops home Matt and focus on our problems. Add to that I have called the Ward office a few times in the past year or so and was given the bums rush. Never had that before. Everyone there had always been at least interested in your concerns. Mind you I am a busy person and am not a retired pension person with time on my hands. You brought up Matt, so here you go.

I don't have any issue with the man. Cant blame him for all the urban ills.

I wasn't pointing at you. But there are a few people on this blog who rip Matt for everything. I agree that Murph stands up for him and criticizes him when it's necessary. The points you bring up are good too (except for the gangster funerals, not too sure how they are going to solve that, seeing as something he has been fighting without any resolve). Not sure why you took offense and decided to write something on this blog that you've mentioned several times now.

I response to all of this I just want to say that i think that Matt O'Shea is the best thing that has ever happened to this neighborhood. I am not alone in that line of thinking. Quit picking on him.

Tom Ogle who created a device replacing the carburetor and allowed his 4,000 pound car to get 100 miles per gallon Oil executives or the government assassinated him.

Thomas Ogle's Vapor Fuel System allowed test vehicles to achieve over 100 miles per gallon of gasoline in 1977 — with no carbon emissions.

On April 14, 1981, Ogle was shot by an unknown assailant in what many deem an assassination attempt — the shooter was never apprehended.

Subsequently, on August 18, Ogle went to a friend’s home, after drinking at The Smugglers Inn, and collapsed.

My response to the post saying "we are going to blame this on Matt" was not because I took offense. It was in response to what I thought was a lazy and irrelevant post. Also the occasional people who say things like "Matt is the best thing to ever happen to our Ward!" just deserve a counter. They are obviously sycophants or people who owe their jobs to the Democratic machine in some fashion. My post was just to remind those and all of us that the general conditions of our Ward have been moving in a negative direction the past few years and that we would all appreciate those we entrust with authority to focus on our Ward. And yes I admit throwing in the gangster funerals may have been unfair. But as I said I am supportive of Matt generally. Take care of US if you expect our support. Not all, not even a majority of the voters in this Ward owe their jobs to you or have any affiliation with the levers of power the Ward leaders have control of. So remember that we matter also. We sure used to matter.
