COOK COUNTY STATES ATTORNEY FOXX |
CHICAGO — A retired police officer shot and killed a man who tried to carjack him in Bridgeport earlier this week.
On Friday, two suspects believed to have been with the carjacker at the time of the attack were released from custody. The Cook County State's Attorney opted not to file charges in the case.
The carjacking happened just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 2900 block of South Shields. A 20-year-old man tried to carjack a retired police officer. That officer, a 71-year-old man who lives in the neighborhood, shot the suspect once in the upper body, killing him.
The state's attorney's office did not respond to requests for comment.
I can't imagine how criminals that do this type of crime are not charged. Perhaps there is a legit reason. I want to hear it.
Goldcoast carjacker grabbed by the Feds, these guys were let go.
ReplyDeleteThe legal term is accountability. I assume these two were persons of color. That is why they were not charged. The states attorney will claim that they did not have sufficient proof to charge them. That is bullshit. Nuff said.
ReplyDeleteTypical. Brush it under the rug and hope it goes away.

ReplyDeleteFeds should have taken the other 2 as well.

ReplyDeleteThey were not charged because they expressed extreme remorse.
