Harvey Weinstein asked me to ‘jump in the bath’ with him: British noblewoman

Hollywood horndog Harvey Weinstein once lured a British noblewoman to his swank London hotel suite — then invited her to “jump in the bath” and soap him up, according to a stunning, first-person account published Sunday.
In a column for the Sunday Times of London, Liza Campbell described how she went to meet with Weinstein in 1995 to discuss a job reading screenplays for the Miramax movie company he co-founded with his younger brother, Bob.
Following the sudden disappearance of several assistants,
Campbell said, the powerful producer excused himself and ducked into a bathroom inside the five-star Savoy hotel.
“I could hear him moving around and suddenly the sound of both taps running. ‘What do you say we both jump in the bath?’ he hollered,” she wrote.
“I could hear the thump of shoes being taken off and felt shocked that the meeting had turned sleazy.”
Campbell — an artist and writer whose late dad was the sixth Earl of Cawdor — said her outrage quickly turned to fear, noting how the movie mogul “is huge, a pockmarked bullock, like a hitman from The Sopranos.”
“While my nervous system tried to adjust, his voice kept up the requests, ‘Come on, it’ll be fun. We can drink champagne. You can soap me — whaddaya say?’” she wrote.
Campbell said she warned Weinstein that “I’m going to f****** lose my temper” if he returned naked, then tiptoed around the suite looking for an unlocked door.
She finally sprinted past the bathroom and escaped into the hallway, she said.
“It took me days to calm down from the anger I felt and the crushing realization that there never was a job; only a hidden hook,” she wrote.
“When you consider the almost identical stories coming out about him now, it seems likely to me that he has been at it for more than 20 years.”
Campbell’s account was the latest in a string published since the New York Times last week revealed that Weinstein secretly struck settlements with at least eight young women — including actress Rose McGowan, who got $100,000 in 1997 — to drop complaints about his lewd behavior.
The Weinstein Co., which Harvey and Bob co-founded after selling Miramax for $60 million, announced Friday that Weinstein was taking an “indefinite leave” pending an investigation by lawyer John Kiernan, a partner at the white-shoe firm Debevoise & Plimpton and president of the New York City Bar Association.
Weinstein has vowed to sue the Times for $50 million. His lawyer, Charles Harder, didn’t return a request for comment.
