Matt O'Shea and BLM
It's been 30 days since BLM unfairly targeted our neighborhood with blanket accusations of racism. It's over now. I want to acknowledge the efforts of Alderman O'Shea who arose to the occasion and walked, talked, did whatever he had to do to get those people out of here. O'Shea gave it 110%.
Now maybe Mr. O'Shea can finish the intersection at 115th and Pulaski.
ReplyDeleteI agree that he did enough genuflecting at the whole BLM narrative - if he didn't they would target him as a racist. I think we learned some valuable lessons though. This "movement" is a hate filled group of racists and communist type weirdos and they are the muscle of the new left in our very own Democrat Party. The media largely ignored their hostility, their threats and their intimidation tactics. The Mt Greenwood and the Blue Lives Matter communities did not fold to their intimidation bully tactics. They won. I also noticed that Trump won most of the precincts west of Western Ave or came pretty close according to DNAinfo.
ReplyDeleteYou hit it right on the head. The alderman was forced into an impossible situation. Movements like this may not disappear, but heading into winter why escalate and perpetuate a potential media frenzy when the demonstrators will disappear when the temperatures go below freezing. There's no sense letting the media stoke the fires by labelling Mt. Greenwood as anything but a hard working, middle class, law abiding neighborhood. Let Father Phleger let them lie down in the middle of 79th & Racine year round if they like.
ReplyDeleteHey did a great job. Thanks Matthew.
ReplyDeleteHis staff did a good job too.
Deletehe never called out Fr Faker for branding the whole neighborhood as racist and he played kumbaya with thugs who promised to return to disrupt business again
ReplyDeleteHe handled it perfect...............
