News Flash

Tom Dart is rapidly positioning himself to run for mayor in the special election to be held after Rahm resigns. His platform will refer to the special needs of blacks, blacks, gays, latinos, puppies, prostitutes, liberals and more blacks.

19th ward hacks are now lining up to kiss his ass.

The last time we were treated to a "Tom Dart for Mayor" scenario, back when Rahm's Chicago residency was being challenged, we heard would be candidate Dart proclaim such an effort would take too much time from his family. Think about this for a moment.

Dart's initial entry into local political office as a state senator was a gift as he smoothed his way into the seat of retiring state senator Jeremiah Joyce. He didn't need to spend a dime on campaigning or gathering petition signatures for the office. Following senate redistricting he moved to the other house with little effort. Dart later received another inheritance from retiring Cook County Sheriff Mike Sheahan.
Never one to back away from biting the hands that fed him, Dart took on another person with the Mt. Carmel fleece, the tossled hair (which many claim is a toupee), and a host of liberal causes which have little or nothing to do with the office he took an oath for. We've seen lawsuits against Craigslist, inquiries into the construction of a quarry in Robbins, rehabbing whores, offering transgenders inmates the option of where they want to bunk, the puppy rescues, more Mt. Carmel fleece photo ops, appearances on radio programs to boast of sending sheriff's employees to the farthest reaches of the county, just to screw with them, understaffing at the jail, whining about overcrowding (even though Mike Sheahan dealt with overcrowding far surpassing current conditions), refusal to conduct evictions, refusal to accept arrestees scheduled for deportation, more Mt. Carmel fleece, and perpetual whining about mental illness. Darts tenure as Sheriff can be marked by numerous lawsuits against him by his own employees for discriminatory practices and safety concerns tied with understaffing at the jails. In spite of budgetary constraints, Dart hires staff into high paying positions for which they have no prior experience. Exactly what does a "director of policy" do, and what are the qualifications?

While I agree with the premise that Dart has spent an inordinate amount of time trying to cultivate the image of a sensitive, progressive, innovative reformer, the real challenge in evaluating his qualifications would be to determine how much time he actually spends doing the job he swore he would do. And when you figure that out, you can understand the amount of time he actually gets to spend with his family, and then the amount of time he would be able to spend running this city. The best all of us could hope for is that he gets a new Mt Carmel fleece for Christmas....and maybe a haircut.

Its about time that taxpayers make Dart account for his misbehavior. It starts right here in the 19th ward.

Watching Channel 7 News and who is standing next to JJ and Danny Davis? No one but our illustrious 19th Ward resident Andrea Zopp. The recent CPS Board member who was happy to give Barbara Bird Bennett $20 million dollars of our money.
She seems proud to call for accountability on the part of police but don't worry about what she and her cronies do. Anybody in their right minds will remember this when it comes primary election time.
Remember residents of the 19th award she doesn't have YOUR best interest at heart.
