Business is still booming for Gov. Bruce Rauner and his wife Diana, who reported more than $58 million in income in 2014, according to a joint tax filing released by the governor’s office on Friday.
The Rauners reported $58.3 million in total income on their federal return. Their adjusted gross income was $57.5 million. They paid $15.2 million in federal taxes and $2.8 million in Illinois taxes, according to the filing.
The governor’s office did not release the schedules for the filing, which provide information on interest income, mortgage interest and charitable deductions. But in a news release, the governor’s office said the Rauners made $3.3 million in charitable contributions.

Last October, Rauner’s office released four pages of his 2013 tax return, also without the accompanying schedules. That filing revealed the Rauners took in $60.8 million in income, up from the $53.4 million they reported making in 2012. In 2011, Rauner reported $28.1 million in income and in 2010, $27.1 million.
In October 2014, Rauner was in the midst of a contentious campaign against former Gov. Pat Quinn. Quinn’s campaign at the time questioned why Rauner didn’t release his entire tax return to the public.
I for one am astounded at the demonization of success that is taking hold of this country. Go to youtube and look up "Adam Carolla Wall Street Rant".
ReplyDeleteIt matters not what someone makes per year. Obama couldn't even buy a plane ticket to attend the 2000 Dem convention according to reports. His credit card was maxed out. Clearly you hate Rauner....hey it's your blog....but we cant continue on this deficit, debt path. We will deal with it one way or the other. At least now the pain will be more manageable. But if we run Rauner out of town and get another Democrat in about 3 years - we are finished as a state. We have one of the worst projected job growths of any state - and that is pathetic considering Chicago used to be one of the most industrious cities with opportunity. No longer. and attacking Rauner who hasn't even had a budget passed yet - seems to be wrong.
Rauner is going to bankrupt the state union and government workers get ready for a 50% wage cut and no pension i'ts work until you die!!
ReplyDeleteGod forbid you get hurt on the job no workers comp benefits hope your family takes care of you after they come home from working 2 low wage jobs!!
Sounds like some pretty crazy alarmist rhetoric that you would hear from any Union Steward. I have never met someone very active in Union issues who was not an avowed leftist and a knee jerk hater of the Free Market and the boogey man "Corporations"!! Put the rock down and the strident sign - and get back to work. And your Proud Union Home sign is getting a little faded and tacky. Pay as much attention to that as you do to your $35,000 Japanese SUV we see you wash in your driveway. Support your Union who is pushing for another insane wave of illegal immigrants to push down your wages. I heard a local Mechinics Union commercial attacking "Right To Work" laws. The implied threat was that they were coming here. What was funny though, is that they argued that this will drive down wages. Perhaps - and a fair point. But how can they recognize RTW laws as driving down wages but not recognize the common sense fact that bringing in hundreds of thousands of immigrants....over a million each year...legal and illegal....does not drive down wages too...and much more directly hitting the Union jobs. Yet your Unions almost exclusively give millions to Democrats who push to let this flood of immigration continue.
DeleteHeard from Union Hall to Union Hall. The directive has been given. "Demonize Rauner in casual conversation and at every opportunity". We must get rid of him so we can give back all levers of government in IL to the Democrats - who have done so much to help the state....Rauner was certainly right that we have become a pititul state with people and businesses leaving in droves....(and for the economic illiterate stooges).....jobs and paychecks to tax....all go bye bye. We are hemorrhaging jobs....and continuing to add unbalanced budgets even now. I will give Rauner 4 years to try to make some changes to the failed policies of Blago and Quinn and Madigan. They care nothing for me. Taxpayers are seen as merely ATMs by the Democrat Party who care only for the minorities it seems.
DeleteHow can Rauner bankrupt the state when Quinn already did that.. Stolen Valor?
DeleteDemonization of success? Rauner made money basically by buying and selling. He manufactures nothing. He serves no one. He is under the impression that running a government is like running a Firm. He's paying for that misperception now. Of course, Madigan isn't any better. Thank the good people of DuPage for repeatedly voting him in.
ReplyDeleteIf it is so easy why don't you make yourself 50 or 60 million right quick? You are probably mad because for every one thousand dollars you made last year....he made one million. Put down the rock, stop loafing, and get back to work. (Just telling you what your boss has probably told you a thousand times before...or maybe a million)
DeleteJealousy and envy are ugly traits. Union people can be greedy too

ReplyDeleteWASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson's campaign on Friday acknowledged he never applied nor was accepted to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point - a tale he included in his autobiography and that he has repeated since then, POLITICO reported on Friday.
Hillary claimed to have tried to join the army....or was it the Marines? She also claimed to have touched down in Afghanistan while her craft was "taking ground fire". Politico hates conservative Black candidates. it does not fit the left wing play book that peoples skin color determines their political beliefs.
