Will Matt go along with more of this garbage or will he speak out? I believe the problems of people cutting down side streets, especially Artesian in order to avoid the Western Ave red light does more to create the incentive to drive fast down side streets where kids play. If they fixed that light and opened up Maplewood to two way traffic there would not be so much congestion around the park. Personally I have not heard anything about any dangerous accidents over there AT ALL . So.......it is probably more bull****.
E X A C T L Y. They alter driving behaviors, making us LESS safe. It is disgusting. How could anyone with integrity support these shakedown machines? The entire program is suspect.
Spanish company was able to obtain the lease for the skyway, right? It was the Daley-connected family that took the parking deal. Everything is metered now. Rates doubled. Rates double again. Buyers led by JP Morgan Chase, where BIll Daley worked. The Daley family got the non-bid sewer contract. 68,000,000 million to speculate in real estate for Olympics.
One of the highest real estate taxes.Amusement taxes. Various fines. All contributing to Chicago's fall.
... now we are going to be photo enforced. This is mafia government. Robbery.
THE CITY THAT WORKS? I recently called the 19th Ward regarding city parkway trees hanging onto the roof or an elderly couple's home, damaging the gutters and roof. I was informed that they would take care of it in TWENTY FOUR TO THIRTY SIX MONTHS! I guess if that couple's name was Daley, Madigan, O'Shea, or Joyce the wait time wouldn't be as long.!
The city is starving for revenue. Gotta pay for those 50yr old retirees. Just another tax. Get used to it, neighbor.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the alderman doing?
ReplyDeleteOf course not -- I think they make it less safe by altering ingrained driving behaviors. It is outrageous.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous is right. The retiring at 50 is ridiculous. The two pension scheme is ridiculous.
Municipal BK. Stop exploiting commuters/drivers. 200 fine and additional fee for sticker.

DeleteMatt has jump started the ice rink. Nobody else could get it done. I guess the speed cameras were part of the trade off.

This City and State are in big trouble because of the spoils systems. It is the pensions and that are too expensive.
