Iran Deal

It's not often that I applaud President Obama but I think his administration has done well by making a deal with Iran. Good for the U.S.

How could you believe Obama had anything to do with this? He and his phony war hero Kerry needed headlines to make us forget Obamacare. We got pimped by the Iranians, Chinese and Russians again. Iran will have a bomb in six months.

I suppose this comment relates to this post and the one on Durbin. Compromise. Diplomacy. It works. His Holiness Ronald Reagan released $8 billion of Iranian assets that were frozen to secure the release of 52 white male hostages after 444 days of captivity. The women and black hostages were previously released by Khomeini. Remember, too, that it was Reagan who attacked Libya, including Benghazi, in 1986; we lost two airmen. When six Americans were kidnapped in Beirut in 1984-85, it was Reagan who reached out to the Iranians to influence Lebanon to free the hostages. Reagan then sold weapons to Iran. Then, the funds from the illegal weapons sales to Iran were diverted to illegally support the Contras in Nicaragua.

Ultimately, three hostages were released (three more were taken), Iran acquired a bunch of advanced weapons, and the US lost international prestige. Reagan somehow managed to survive the Iran-Contra Affair, unlike Nixon whose watergate scandal destroyed his presidency.

I do not know, Under High Highness Reagan, Iran got billions and weapons. I am sure that Obama can do better.

Anyway, I am going to make a comment on Daniel Webster I think in the Durbin post on compromise.

The hostages were held until Jimbo Carter "His Lowness" - was officially OUT ! They feared Reagan would move militarily against them - and released them just as he was inaugurated! He must be pretty good at diplomacy to have worked their release IMMEDIATELY upon taking office. You forgot to mention that Reagan did not appease the Communists in Russia - but rather went about dismantling the greatest threat that ever faced America until today. I will put Reagans record against Barack (I have been wrong about everything in the middle east so for) Obama any day. I know Grandpa Commie taught him a lot....and his years of being a part time lecturer at U of Chicago greatly prepared him for the Presidency. Oh I also forgot the years he was a "community organizer" staging protests in his adopted black community....he made good signs, shook down local governments for grant money, and made sure he voted only "present" on important issues in Springfield. And thanks for taking my health care plan from me and my family.

Seeing John Kerry and Barack Obama negotiating with Iran truly worries me. Kerry was in the liberal left minority during the 80's when Reagan was systematically winning the Cold War. John stood on the fringe with the Liberal Democrats calling for a nuclear "freeze". Obama has consistently insulted, disheartened, and hurt our allies in the world since taking office. He has also been wrong on most every stupid group he supported in the middle east. The Arab Spring has done nothing but put Hezbollah and the Muslim Brotherhood in power in states that WERE our allies. He is an intellectual wannabe who has never been chastised for the fool he is because he is (half) black. The first affirmative action President.
