IlLEGAL CHICAGO RESTAURANT RAISES PROFILE AND PROFITS BY OFFENDING CHRISTIANS
A Chicago restaurant is raising its profile and its profits by selling a hamburger garnished with a communion wafer and a red wine reduction sauce.
Kuma's Corner admits that there are people who are offended by the stunt, but says the burger is selling well and increasing their revenue.
It's in poor taste, said Jeff Young of New Orleans who runs the blog Catholic Foodie. "It's not, for us, the Eucharist," Young said. "However this wafer is a symbol. There's a cross on it. It's like taking a flag and burning a flag."
One practicing Christian told Illinois Review she doubts the restaurant would "have the courage to do something similar with Islamic symbols such as the star and crescent, or iconography from other faiths."
Below is from the Illinois Secretary of State web site indicating that the owner of Kuma's Corner is a corporation which is not in good standing (illegal) with the state of Illinois. The next question becomes, how can an illegal corporation hold a liquor license from the city of Chicago?

Hate crime
ReplyDeletebuddys with Rahm?
ReplyDeleteThat company does not reflect Chicago's valu..........er I mean it DOES reflect the liberal values of Chicago. Hypocrites.
ReplyDeleteRahm should charge them with a hate crime. It certainly meets the standards. Where is our wonderful Cardinal ? He must be out there asking the faithful to rally and protest! Wait listen.....what did he say? .....Oh I think I just hear crickets.
The Cardinal is a spineless, rudderless so called leader who will do nothing that will give him any nasty press coverage. After all, any Catholic strong enough to stand up for the Church or traditional values WILL be attacked by our scum media.
Imagine what would happen if Cork and Kerry flew a nazi flag. They would be shut down. Tell me the difference.
ReplyDeleteHow can they operate? Surely you jest MONEY is how they an illegally operate. Chicago is the most corrupt city in the US, just the way the crooked democrat party wants it.
ReplyDeleteHow about this?

What if it said "White Girls"?
I can't imagine a store in our neighborhood with this placard in their window, or anyone supporting a store that did. Are you listening running store on 103rd/Western?
And now they want to donate $1500 to Catholic Charities. CC is saying, "No, we don't want your money." see this link.: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-john-kass-kumas-catholic-charities-20131007,0,3873325.column
