Chicago Teachers Union President, Karen Lewis Jokes About Beheading The ...

A great example for the children! This chick is not a leader. She is a bomb thrower. Time for her to go.

“We are in a moment where the wealth disparity in this country is very reminiscent of the robber baron ages,” Lewis said in the speech videotaped Dec. 2. “The labor leaders of that time, though, were ready to kill. They were. They were just — off with their heads. They were seriously talking about that.” Laughter rose up from the audience then Lewis continued: “I don’t think we’re at that point. And that’s scary to most people. But the key is they think nothing of killing us. They think nothing of putting our people in harm’s way. They think nothing of lethal working conditions.”

She is simply another far left - dare I say "Communist" brainwashed labor agitator. She is in fact following the EXACT playbook of Communists from time immemorial. That is what they do...their rhetoric is always divisive, always designed to foment jealousy, hatred, and action, (violence) against their opposition. It was seen in Wisconsin and Michigan where union thugs in hardhats became violent. Every school teacher is brainwashed to parrot the party line in every discussion in every instance when the subject is their contracts or their working conditions. They demonized Rahm, and they are always being "disrespected" and of course their pay? Well, it is NEVER enough!! Never admit you came out well. P.S. Look up the VICE President of the Chicago Teachers Union. He attended a "Socialist Conference" this fall. Breitbart TV tried to interview him about this. The extreme radicals are now running your unions - into the ground.

Unions are a good idea, gone out of control. Look at the damage they have done to local governments. Why do local governments need union representation anyway. I would vote in favor of barring collective bargaining from government units.

Agreed. Unionized government employees are just another form of welfare. They need to get off the dole.

After seeing this I have to wonder. Is my landscaper thinking about sliting my throat? What about the plumber I have to call in.

  3. Economic disparity is a current fact.

    No teachers are "brainwashed."

Union leaders are supposed to agitate when they deem it necessary. I can see what kind of public address you would like. "Thanks, Rahm, for all of your generosity. We're all happy as clams now. You won't hear from us anymore. Do with us as you will."

Are you sure you don't work for the Pinkertons?

Economic disparity is and always been a "fact" and always will - just as intelligence "disparity", motivational disparity are facts.

      "Some" teachers are brainwashed.

Union leaders "agitate" in order to brainwash their rank and file. See above. If my boss offered a raise of 16% during the worst economic downturn in 50 years, I probably would say thanks. I sure wouldn't bend my neighbors ear and bitch - especially when you probably are making 50% more than that neighbor...

    2. Anonymous: the economic disparity that we're experiencing now is historic. There are times in out history when the disparity between rich and poor was not so great, and we had a thriving middle class. No more. You know what she's talking about.

The raise is NOT, I repeat, NOT, 16% over four years. It is as follows: 3% the first year, 2$ the second year, 2% the second year, and 3% the fourth year. What I've been getting at my job. Guess where the additional number comes from? Paying "consultants" put in place by the Board and educational "experts" who have little to offer rank-and-file teachers. Bending facts (you can see CNN's analysis if you like) to suit preconceived notions is de rigeur on this blog, so I'm not surprised that you bend facts too.

I applaud them -- they aren't part of this race to the bottom that you seem to endorse. They aren't like the poor nuns that taught many of us -- who did the job, never complained, and wound up in underfunded convent homes for their trouble.

Karen Lewis is a fat, black woman, and has a mouth on her. I wouldn't expect most of the people on this blog to have anything but animosity for her. Like throwing red meat to old lions. You wouldn't say anything against firemen or police, would you? Both police and fire unions endorsed the strike.

Yes, the chances are good that your landscaper, plumber or electrician would cut your throat except for the police. They are not bad people except that they are reacting to all of the class warfare rhetoric.

"Proud Union Home" signs will soon become "Dumb Union Voter" who voted for four more years of unemployment.

The Democrats have a plan to fix the economy - in fact it is the very same plan they offer every time....more TAXES !!!

Look at the AFL-CIO or other major labor union web-sites and compare them to the Communist Party sites....It is stunning how similar they are...if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck.........

The most unnerving part was when she received applause from some of her union members after the statement. The Socialist Rally at Northwestern featured in part the "Use of revolutionary groups to help facilitate Union activity". This information has made me a definite supporter of Charter Schools.

"you didn't build that", .....(or how bout this one) "you know there are alot uh smart folks out there"...

Class warfare....and yeah there are alot of smart people out there but how many of them are willing to strive hard enough, stay in all weekend, miss the Bears game, study til all hours, knock on doors and research til your knuckles are bleeding, paint the office,....seek out and correctly hire the right people, take a gamble with all your time and maybe even pawn the wife's wedding ring, drive a beater car, sleep on the floor of your store, work for free for a year - or two - or three, live with the worry that your gamble will fail, spend your less dollar.....basically do everyone's job all the milllions of decisions necessary to start a business - all in the hope to become wealthy ? Maybe to be become millionaires ?

Most people will work much harder to prevent someone from taking $20k from them than they would to go out and find a way to make an extra $20k.....

Viva La Revolucion !!!! I think it is going to be interesting to watch when Rahm begins closing more and more money wasting half empty schools. It is also interesting that when "The Proud Union Homes" all went on strike last year, the hero of the the unionists - Superunion Man (alter ego Obama) was absent, missing, not to be found, silent, hiding, not present, offering no statements, MIA, etc....maybe this guy is not who you think he is. In fact he just cut your 4% annual raise in half with his 2% rise in Soc Sec tax hike. Maybe he is more like the Joker and "it's allll part of the plannnnnn"

There is no teacher anywhere worth $100,000.

Not only do many teachers make over $70,000 annually, when you factor in all their perks and the fact that they only work about 75% of a year - they are effectively making $100,000 annually now. And they're still complaining.

When asked teachers tell you they deserve this salary...they hold Masters Degrees and they are professinals....True. They then say that they cannot be responsible for teaching inner city students or kids from broken homes since there are so many other outside influences including lack of parental involvement. True. Many privately say there is not much they can do... I understand. But then why pay high prices for teachers who admit much is beyond them. Get ex military to teach for 50k and institute discipline and we will get as good or better results....and save taxpayeres hundreds of millions

My neighbor is a union electrician for the city. He only works about 2 or 3 hrs a day. The rest of his time is spent on lunch or on the phone complaining about everything. I would say he is typical.

Sounds like my neighbor, carpenter foreman park district. he does nothing all day, reads the paper, break, makes plans for lunch, has lunch, nap, break, goes home.

I put in my full 8 except when I'm laid off, then I work at Menards.
