The new trees are in distress because nodody is watering them. Why spend all that money when you dont make any provision for long term care?

Get your asses out of your houses and stores and water them yourselves. It costs you no money and a few minutes of your time.

Where are the Catholic school children who need to earn service hours to make their confirmations? This is a no-brainer. Now the problem is solved. Someone has provided a simple solution for you. Can you get the job done? Or maybe I'll drive the 2.5 miles and do it myself, even though it's not the major intersection in my neighborhood.

Beverly and Morgan Park residents take care of the flowers and trees at the train stations, at Sutherland School and Kellogg. Learn from their example.

    Case closed.

Agreed, the aldermans office should be coordinating this. We are talking 2 or 3 hours a week.

Wrong. The schools and neighborhood organizations should be coordinating this. The community organizations should get people to sign up. Parents of children can handle this. Motivated people who have the time should get the job done by arranging and/or doing it themselves. The ward office has NEVER needed to be the driving force of volunteer work at train stations and schools in Beverly and Morgan Park. The residents of those communities managed themselves. Government can't do everything for you. Can't you even organize yourselves to pull weeds for God's sake?

Why doesn't Alderman Zimmerman use his car to "jam" some of those criminal gangbangers and tell them to stay in their "f ing car'' when they are committing crimes in our neighborhood on the way to their gangster funerals.

What did the ward office say when you called about this? If you didn't call the ward office, what was the response at 311? If you didn't call 311 either, how was your complaint handled by Peoples Gas? Did you even report the pothole to any of these entities? Lots of sharing on blogs and facebook, but people aren't calling police with info about crime or potential crime, or 311 or the ward office or the utility companies about services.

Complaining on a blog read by a limited number of people who are not in a position to address your concern isn't going to be very affective in getting the sinkhole filled.

Do you want the problem solved, or do you just want to bitch about something? That was a rhetorical question.
