Chick - fil - A

Since when is it bad to have traditional Christian values? This new political correctness that is being shoved down our throats means we are f-----. So if you don't endorse the liberal agenda you can't get a business license? I say enough. Being gay is a mental illness and it needs to be treated accordingly. (Until a few years ago, homosexuality was officially labeled as an illness by the American Psychiatric Assoc. Then with the promise of government grant $$, the label was dropped.) It's time to start speaking the truth.

Maybe Matt O'Shea can extend an invite to Chick fil A.

The below is from the Chicago Tribune.
A Chicago alderman wants to kill Chick-fil-A's plans to build a restaurant in his increasingly trendy Northwest Side ward because the fast-food chain's top executive vocally opposes gay marriage.

Ald.Proco "Joe" Moreno announced this week that he will block Chick-fil-A's effort to build its second Chicago store, which would be in the Logan Square neighborhood, following company President Dan Cathy's remarks last week that he was "guilty as charged" for supporting the biblical definition of marriage as between a man and woman.

"If you are discriminating against a segment of the community, I don't want you in the 1st Ward," Moreno told the Tribune on Tuesday.

Moreno stated his position in strong terms, referring to Cathy's "bigoted, homophobic comments" in a proposed opinion page piece that an aide also sent to Tribune reporters. "Because of this man's ignorance, I will now be denying Chick-fil-A's permit to open a restaurant in the 1st Ward."

The alderman has the ideological support of Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

"Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values," the mayor said in a statement when asked about Moreno's decision. "They disrespect our fellow neighbors and residents. This would be a bad investment, since it would be empty."

Moreno is relying on a rarely violated Chicago tradition known as aldermanic privilege, which dictates that City Council members defer to the opinion of the ward alderman on local issues. Last year Moreno wielded that weapon to block plans for aWal-Martin his ward, saying he had issues with the property owner and thatWal-Martwas not "a perfect fit for the area."

I do not want a Chick-fil-A in my community any more than radar/photo enforcement. I agree with Ald. Moreno.

The day I let the Chicago city council become my moral compass is the day I might consider ending my life. The city council has had more members thrown in jail then most crime families. I would love to see the ward send this franchise an invitation, but I would be suprised if our leaders would dare take a stand on this issue, or any for that matter. Last time I checked we had a first ammendment in this country, but I can't expect anyone in such a dysfuctional organization like the city council to understand that. We are welcome to have a view on things, as long as that view coincides with the liberal agenda of the city council. This alderman is probably right that the land they were going to build on is better left an unocupied eyesore, like so many other parcels in this city. That is quite a tribute to our gay citizens. All the while we leave the tax revenue go to the suburbs, and raise the taxes on everyone else. Well the fact is people are hurting and we can't count on $150,000 from the city, like the mighty members of the city council. They better realize that residents are the next thing to migrate to the suburbs. I think the city council should take bus ride to Detroit and see how that strategy worked for that city.

Please move to Tinley Park so you won't have to worry about the rest of us here in the ward anymore.

Matt obviously doesn't want Chick Fil A. He CHOSE and BACKED the Abortion/Gay MARRIAGE Advocate Hurley to represent US! Stop being a cheerleader for him ramming a car with a kid in the backseat behind the 19th ward office for the type of drug crimes that he advocates should be nothing more than a ticketed offense. As if there aren't any other crimes going on at that location. Stop being his Huckleberry! What led him to know for sure what was being dealt? No police officer would ram a car to stop a bunch of kids slinging dope. Who is this Matt O'Shea? Was he pissed off he wasn't getting a piece of the action?

    Moreno is just a goof!

Re-read the article about the drug sales. Matt did not say her RAMMED a car. He said he blocked the car in. When black adults drive down alleys and white 14 year olds hand cash over and receive something in the exchange BEHIND THE WARD OFFICE at 9:00 PM, then black adults drive to 7-11 and do the same thing with another teen, then drive back to the alley and do the same thing again with more teens, one could assume something illicit is occurring. Your last question further reveals what a moron you are.

The alderman does not believe selling addictive drugs to children should be merely a ticketed offense. You need to re-read on that topic too.

Alderman O'Shea is the ultimate protector of this neighborhood. He stopped a drug deal. I applaud that. If he didn't do it who would? As far as the baby in the back seat, why are we blaming O'Shea for that? Perhaps we should blame the drug dealers who brought the baby. People that deal drugs should be on notice that they are going to get some rough treatment around here.

I agree with the previous post regarding O'Shea and Hurley. Hurley is the absolute pits ! She is the bottom of a very scummy barrel in the 19th Ward. She is so underqualified it is ridiculous. It really makes me wonder what is going on with the 19th Ward democRATS ! They honestly could not recruit a super liberal Democrat from the District who was at least qualified to hold the position ? Nobody applied? We really need to get the word out to our family, friends and neighbors about Fran Hurley and how radical and liberal she is. I can speak from personal experience. I had a polite conversation with her once and came away dumbfounded at how liberal and clueless she really is regarding the plight of the truly average person in her area. She and O'Shea have apparently never made any significant money in whatever endeavors they have been involved with and are looking at their new and potential jobs as striking it rich ! To me that means they will do WHATEVER Madigan and Rahm tell them to do....puppets in a Ward that has some of the best demographics in the city, with hard working public and private sector employees. We deserve better. I recommend going to help Barb Bellar....the first line of her resume trumps the resumes of these two 19th Ward hacks put together! If we cannot beat these robotic taxing machines now - when things are terrible, then we really are a lost Ward !

  6. I've been in the restaurant on Chicago Ave. They have an excellent menu and people of every color and persuasion . This is a very good place. All I know is that Rahm and Joe are idiots. This is a tax paying business that also will employee and create other tax payers. The store downtown employees a lot of people. The president of C F A said he just believes that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. So what. That's his opinion and if I remember when I woke up this morning I was still living in the USA. Can you say the frost amendment!!!! As far as Matt helping to detain a drug seller, good for doing what he should be doing but he did do it. Thanks Matt.
