Great Parade! Congratulations to Skinny Sheahan and all the organizers. I gotta tell you, I was impressed. What a great family parade and Southside event. Let's do it again next year.

Amazing what a group of "amateurs" were able to pull off. Thank you to parade committee for bringing the parade back to what it once was.

Skepticism made the parade successful today. If no one raised objections, the bar wouldn't have been raised. Because there were legitimate objections to the parade as we knew it, everyone needed to step up their game this year. If this attentiveness continues, the parade may work. If the the community becomes too comfortable with today's results, in two or three years we could be back to where we were when it needed to be cancelled. Examine why it worked, and continue to respect the community's concerns.

There is a reason why people move in to the 19th Ward from the 11th, 13th and 14th Wards. People from the 19th Ward do not move into Daley's, Madigan's or Burke's Wards. The sense of community and neighborhood pride is the main reason people move in to our Ward. By attempting to stop the South Side Irish Parade , Committeeman Matt O'Shea's poor sense of leadership has essentially served to divide our community.
