So just who is the smartest?
The results from the earlier poll which measured the public's perception of raw intelligence, were interesting but murkey, so we had to do another one. As you can see on the right, the contenders have been hitting it hard. I expect to declare a winner soon.

Pick is 14 votes from winning this contest. Might as well just give it to him now.

I vote for the scarecrow, only because a box of rocks was not one of the choices.

I wish Dan Hynes, Tom Dart, and Matt Oshea would take a long walk down the yellow brick road.

It looks like Dan Hynes edged out the Pick to be the smartest in the nineteenth ward. wo

You know your poll is erroneous since Dan Hynes isn't a 19th ward politician.

You know it is interesting to point out that Dan Hynes never lived in the 19th ward since he graduated from Notre Dame. First he lived in the 43rd ward, where Peg Roth was Ward Committeewoman and had previously been an assistant to Dan’s father Tom beginning back in the St John Fisher days of old. Peg and Houlihan were sent up north so Tom Hynes could try and have a second ward to run as manager. He managed the 19th ward for Jerry Joyce since 1975 in a relationship that was similar to Edgar Bergin and Charlie Mc Carthy.

(for those of you who don’t know who Edgar Begin is):

It was interesting to watch those years where people thought Tom Hynes was the Ward Committeeman when he actually took his orders from the Alderman, Joyce. Most wards it’s the other way around.

Since Dan got married he lives around Roscoe Village in what is now the 47th ward with roots to Boss Ed Kelly and Boss Schulter. After the remap takes place in the election of 2015 he will be in the new redrawn 46th ward.

This contest was not fair. The voting was rigged.
