Just to give exeryone an idea how big of a j-off T.D is. A group of sheriff workers who were given marching orders to get petitons and get the word out for people to attend tommys ralley at bourbon street for his run for mayor. They were given this order by a high ranking member of this dept who was telling then tommy was for sure running for mayor. What does tommy do when he finds out. He somehow figures this could be a shackman violation and throws all the employees who were trying to help him under the bus. He opens an internal investigation with OP*. And now all these guys who were trying to help him run for mayor are currently under investigation. Their was an article in micheal sneeds column the other day were T.D said someone hin his dept may have violated shackman. I believe this is what my downtown source was alluding too. Could you imagine trying to help the guy out and now you are under investigation
never trust a politician, they will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat, remember what shortshanks did to his boys that had the clout list for city jobs.the country will be taken back in 2014,cant wait!
Just to give exeryone an idea how big of a j-off T.D is.
It would not suprise me. Tommy fluff boy has thrown many Sheriffs employees under the bus. I hear his donors arnt very happy with him either!
T.D told everyone he was running. Including big donors. Up untill a month ago he had 180k in his campaign fund. He raised 200k in last month telling everyone he was running. Some big donors gave him 30k and he personally told them he was going to run. I hear these people are beyond furious. T.D lied to them and took them for big time cash!
Just to give exeryone an idea how big of a j-off T.D is
Yeah these poor basterds were told to get signatures and send emails out. And tommy fluffer the clown opens an internal investigation on them. He is such a piece of garbage .
• Reason No. 1: Sneed is told the South Side rally in Beverly was shelved shortly after Dart learned fliers for the rally were being passed out in his office by one of his workers -- a no-no for government employees -- and feared it might become a Shakman decree problem. (Dart has reportedly worked hard to keep his office in Shakman compliance.)
The story of this election season is the influence of Worth Township Committeemen and current State Rep of the 35th District, John O'Sullivan. O'Sullivan carried the 19th Ward and Worth Township for both Pat Quinn and Forrest Claypool. This is a significant accomplishment in light of the multiple forces attempting to undermind him.
Once again the Machine wins and the 19th is their slave. Cunningham is woefully unqualified and a Madigan puppet.. Who really believes this guy is capable of independent thought?
Cunningham actually pulled about 71% of the vote in the 19th ward according to the Chicago Board of Elections site.
The 19th ward also carried Forest Claypool by a few points over the Democratic party nominee Toni Preckwinkle. See what happens whaen you don't have captains anymore?
The only candidate the 19th Ward carried was Bill Cunningham. Our Democratic Committeeman did not show any visible support for any other single candidate on the Dem ballot. This wasn't a primary, this was the General Election. O'Shea is nothing more than a puppet being told what to do by his inlaws.
"The 19th ward also carried Forest Claypool by a few points over the Democratic party nominee Toni Preckwinkle. See what happens whaen you don't have captains anymore?"
Ummmmm, Claypool and Preckwinkle didn't run against one another. Nice try though. Time to go back to that remedial class for reading and comprehension.
I meant they carried Claypool over Berrios. Either way , Claypool wasn't the Democratic canidate. That NEVER would have happened with Hynes as Joyce's ward committeeman.
I was hoping that Dan Hynes would make the run for mayor but then I just heard that brother Matt has signed on to help Rahm. I just think that we would all be better off if the Hynes were running things.
Lets thank Matt O'Shea and Tom Hynes for getting Quinn reelected. See below.
Gov. Pat Quinn may have won the governor's race by the narrowest margin in nearly three decades, but he's not letting that stop him from claiming he now has a "mandate" from voters to raise the state income tax for schools.
"I think our message of investing in education was supported by the people," Quinn told the Tribune. "I think that is a really strong mandate that I got. I know from the campaign, people made that pretty clear to me, and I think the election returns said the same thing."
But there is little evidence in Springfield that the Democratic governor will get his tax hike soon. Some Democrats say powerful House Speaker Michael Madigan, who was unenthusiastic about Quinn's plan before the election, has seen little indication that lawmakers have changed their mind.
Facing a state budget deficit that is forecast to climb as high as $15 billion and a stack of unpaid bills to state service providers that is expected to reach $8 billion, Illinois government is rapidly running out of the kind of financial gimmicks that have kept the state afloat, some lawmakers acknowledge privately.
Quinn wants to raise the personal income tax rate by 1 percentage point, a 33 percent increase that he has dubbed a "surcharge for education," adding that it also would provide local property tax relief. On Friday, Republican governor candidate state Sen. Bill Brady said he is willing to work with Quinn on budget matters, but remains firmly against a tax hike.
Senate President John Cullerton, D-Chicago, whose chamber approved a tax increase even larger than the one sought by Quinn, only to have it stall in the House, said he had "no idea" whether maintaining Democratic control of the legislature and governor's office would embolden lawmakers to approve an income tax hike.
Even Quinn wasn't offering any predictions on Friday, saying he's not sure if he will push lawmakers to vote on a plan before or after the new year.
"We'll see," Quinn said. "I'm not going to make a decision on that at this moment. We'll have to talk to the legislators. … We'll see them in a week or two."
With an immediate tax increase questionable, lawmakers are expected to once again turn to various proposals to expand gambling as a way to generate new revenue. But such ideas as extending video gambling to horserace tracks have traditionally become so overloaded with related gambling giveaways that they become too heavy for lawmakers to support.
Quinn previously has said he's not a fan of a widespread gambling expansion, but said he would study a proposal if lawmakers put one forward. He begrudgingly approved legalizing video gambling last year as a way to pay for a massive statewide construction program.
"That has to have microscopic scrutiny," Quinn said of a possible gambling proposal. "But I'm not enthusiastic."
We have over 30,000 people living in the 19th ward. Why is it that we have to settle on Matt O'Shea?
He may very well be the best person for the job but I think I would like to ask him a few questions before I decide. First, what is his position on these parking meters that are rumored to be coming to our neighborhood right after the election? Does he think they are good? Bad? Second, what are his feelings on term limits? How many terms will he want to serve? I don't think our neighborhood can survive another 20 year term by anyone.
The 19th ward has been under federal watch long before we type this..
But anyway, in The Beverly Review this week they had an article about the 19th ward election results. One very interesting thing happened in the election and they made no mention of it.
That thing was the fact that Forest Claypool got the most votes from the 19th ward as compared to the other canidates. He beat Berrios who was the endorsed Democratic Canidate.
Sort of throw back to 2006 when the 19th ward carried Perica for County Board President over the Toddler Stroger.
