Parking Meters

I keep hearing rumors, louder and louder, that parking meters are soon going to start showing up in the 19th Ward. Streets like 95th, Western Ave from 89th to 119th. Kedzie from 103st to 112th, 111th street, and even parts of 99 st, 107 st and Pulaski.

I  would like to hear from the Alderman's office as to if these rumors are true or partially true. I would also like to hear from our residents. What do you think about parking meters on our commercial strips?

Are those visiting the new methadone clinic on Kedzie going to have to use meters?

Thank your alderman, "MRS RUGAI, voted yes" for Mr. Daley. and THEY sold our parkng meter priveledges for 99 years and guess what? the contract allows them to place them in ANY commerical, or "large demographic density" residential zone in the city of chicago.

Contracts are not written in stone. They can be redone especialy when the public interest is involved.

During the frigid winter months the meters need a good wash,so don forget to "adopt" a meter and pour lots of water in the mechanism to flush out summertime debris.

I think that a judge would have to redo certain terms of the parking meter deal if there was evidence that the deal was corrupt. I havent heard about any daley family making money off that deal. Does anyone know something?

There is hardly ever any parking in front of my business because of the Bones using that probation facility on 111th across from Mt Greenwood Hardware

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anonymous8/16/2010

    Meters might help alleviate that.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Anonymous8/16/2010

Still shopping elsewhere. Meters will only drive the rest of Mt Greenwood businesses out of here.

  19. Anonymous8/16/2010

There is a place for parking meters but not on shopping streets that are hurting. It will only make the hurt that much worse.

I am calling on this blog to investigate why:
Alderman Rugai was able to pull her vehicle directly beside the church for the funeral of Firefighter Wheatley, while we, his family and friends walked over 4 blocks to get to the service, Mrs. Rugai the princess pulls up and bullies her way through the crowd to park right next to the church.
So she is too good to park and walk like the other 1000 or so attendees?
I guess arrogance and the privilege elite have its place in the 19th ward.
    VOTE THESE FU%#kers OUT!
    I call BULLSHIT!

The good works are too numerous to list. Every day, all day. Every waking moment was devoted to the 19th ward.

I would still like to know why there are captains that live in the suburbs. They should be neighborhood people. These captains do not have the best intrest of the neighborhood. They are hacks that justify their existence to keep their cush city jobs. My Captain DD know lives in Palos. What the F***

  42. Anonymous8/18/2010

It would be nice if we could get a couple qualified candidates in this race and actually have a choice rather than just accepting the 19th Ward nominee.

  43. Anonymous8/18/2010

Regarding two postings ago: What does, "My Captain DD knows lives in Palos" mean? Please translate. After you've translated, provide specific examples of 19th ward precinct captains who live in the suburbs. Since you are anonymous there is no reason not to name the people and the suburbs they live in. Perhaps that's what you were attempting to do in your non-sensical response.

To the person on the last post: what do you feel makes a person qualified to run for alderman? Please be specific and provide several examples. The "19th ward nominee" is more qualified than any other person I know based on what he has ALREADY brought to the ward. I'm sure there are other qualified people, but they should be able to demonstrate how they have been an INVOLVED ASSET to this community rather than merely a disgruntled, negative person, like some of the people on this blog. Matt O'Shea may not be the ONLY person who can be effective as the alderman of the 19th ward, but based on his track record he is probably the BEST person. Name someone who you think would be better and explain why you think that. If you are unable to come up with anyone, it shows that you are uninvolved here. People who show up and/or help out with the many GREAT things that go on here know who the people are who have gone above and beyond and who demonstrate passion and commitment to the communities (yes plural) of the ward. If you are one of the doers, or at least a participant in the many positive things that go on here, then surely you can be specific about who could do better than Matt O'Shea.

To the Capitalizer two postings above: Your friend is full of crap, if he even exists. If he's real, and he told you those things, then he's a moron. Sounds like those people who want to sound come across as insiders, telling stories indiscriminately to others, believing themselves to be viewed as important, deluding themselves that everyone is hanging on their every word with bated breath. Then your claim, "Also the test came out of the 19th ward as Ginger wanted to get things done before leaving." So, Ginger was supplying the answers to the Lt. test? She was selling the answers? If the firemen of the 19th ward are as superior as they claim (stronger work ethic than their black colleagues, better trained, educated, etc.) no one here would need to cheat on the test. But then again, everyone who doesn't score well enough to move up has an excuse about how it was someone else's fault (once again blacks and affirmative action). That you were "at Dirksen Building yesterday tried to see Blago trial" makes you a goof too. Keep posting your bitter, crazy, transparent nonsense. It's amusing to others. By the way, since Ginger has announced that she is not seeking re-election, you can focus your energy on something more productive now that your wish has been granted.
