Two men where killed in a shooting at a Roseland restaurant Monday sparked by an argument between a restaurant employee and customer.
A shooting that left two men dead at a Roseland restaurant Monday afternoon stemmed from an argument over what kind of cheese was being put on a customer’s sandwich, according to Chicago police.
A staffer at Momty’s Grill in the first block of East 111th Street began arguing with a customer “who was upset over the type of cheese put on his sandwich,” around 4:10 p.m., according to police reports obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times.
The employee then called her son because she was upset that the customer was yelling at her, according to the report.
When her son got there, as well as a “group of guys,” at least one person hit her son and chased him out of the restaurant, officials said.
Moments later, gunfire erupted and responding officers found Dexter Williams and Monte Potts on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
Potts, 34, had been shot in his back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he died at 5:52 p.m. Monday, officials said. In his pocket was a substance later determined to be a Kraft single. Williams was shot in his head and forearm and taken to the same hospital, where he was initially in critical condition and died a day later at 1:41 p.m. His family informed police that they were not surprised that he was shot in the head, as he was a Packers fan.
The suspected shooter was placed in custody at the scene and taken to Roseland Hospital in good condition. Charges have not been filed, police said Wednesday.
Did I miss something? Is being a Packer's fan exempt someone from being shot or is this some kind of tie in because of the Packer's Cheese Head fans and the arguement over cheese. More likely an officer from the 005th District showing creative writing skills on a case report.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad way to treat a human being and get murdered over a sandwich. A disgrace.
ReplyDeleteI would have given the customer his desired cheese sandwich and would not have charged him. Happy customers are good for business.
The employee is not fit to work in a public place. She had no business involving her son. You don’t create a riot because a customer yells at you. Poor employee training. The customer is always right! The murderer should get life in prison because he is not fit to live among people.
OINK!
