Mayor Johnson does not have a business background that’s necessary for managing an American city that promotes producing wealth by encouraging people to work hard to produce wealth, to own businesses, to make items to generate wealth, to purchase goods and services, get highly educated and skilled, and so on that makes America great. Actually he promotes giving American taxpayer’s money to illegal foreigners, ignoring the high crime rate, ignoring the need to recruit highly trained STEM teachers to prepare all students for top jobs, refusing to increase business training courses in high schools to prepare youngsters for the world of work because they are adults at age 18, refusing to require nutrition education to be a part of the kindergarten to college curriculum to reduce the cost of health care to allow students to become knowledgeable experts on how the body works and how food is the medication that the body needs for learning to take place and for a healthy long life.
He needs to focus of citizens of the great city of Chicago and the governor needs to focus on the great people and state of Illinois to bring about positive change. The illegal foreigners need to return to their countries and work to improve their conditions that caused them to leave. Lots of jobs done by illegals can be completed by American citizens and legal foreigners who apply for work permits.
This comment is in reference to the billion dollar investment for the new Southside hospital which is great. However, the best way to increase longevity for black people is to teach them how to research the diets for longevity such as the Mediterranean Diet, or the DASH Diet, and other nutritional methods of eating healthy.
Students should learn how the body works as part of their science education. They should learn that the body makes salt or sodium chloride by a hormone located in the kidneys called Renin, and as a result it is not necessary to eat lots of salt because that will cause problems with the blood pressure.
The body makes sugar that’s called glucose and it is provided by the liver. Therefore it is not necessary to eat excess sugar because the result will cause serious problems with too much sugar in the blood.
Knowledge of how much protein the body needs must be taught in science or by reading nutrition information to prevent eating too much protein that causes kidney problems. The rule is to multiply your body weight times decimal point 36 and the result determines how many grams of protein your body needs each day to keep you from harming your kidneys and other organs.
The next point is how many grams of fiber to eat daily to prevent colon problems. Women are advised to eat 22 grams of fiber foods daily and men must eat more. Beans, nuts, oats, etc. are sources of fiber. The internet lists every vitamin, mineral, fiber, and any source of interest.
There are additional items to consume each day that includes Vitamin A foods for eyesight, immune system, hair, nails, skin, etc. Women are advised to eat 740 micrograms of Vitamin A foods each day to prevent blindness, etc. I eat a half cup of a baked sweet potato each day to protect my eyesight, immune system, etc. Carrots, Spinach, orange colored fruits and vegetables provide vitamin A. Too much vitamin A foods is toxic. Too much of all foods cause health problems because food is medicine to keep us alive and ability to function.
The next item is the amount Calcium foods to eat each day The recommend daily amount is 1,000-1,500 milligrams of calcium foods per day to prevent muscle spasms, rickets, bone problems, etc. If you don’t remember which foods have calcium or other minerals and vitamins, ask the internet to list the foods and any other questions.
Potassium foods are required each day to provide electricity for our body to move and function properly. The suggested amount of potassium foods to eat each day is 3,500 milligrams for adults. Elderly adults and children eat less than 3,500 milligrams while athletes eat larger amounts of potassium foods to prevent heart and kidney issues. A nutritionist is hired for special assistance. I am 89 years old and eat 2,300 milligrams of potassium foods each day to walk for exercise and keep the blood pressure and kidneys functioning properly. The law requires potassium and other minerals and vitamins to be listed on labels to prevent consuming excessive amounts.
The next mineral is magnesium foods that allows the body to function properly. Inadequate magnesium causes muscle spasms, rapid heartbeat, sleep disturbances, confusion, irritability, etc. The amount of Magnesium foods to eat per day is 500 to 750 milligrams per day. Children and elderly may be advised to eat less. Most foods contain magnesium. Copy the list of magnesium foods from the internet for reference.
Regarding the amount of Calories to consume each day depends on how much weight a person wants to gain. I eat less than 2,000 calories per day to maintain my slim figure.
The point of this information is to point out that people who read health reference books, or complete nutrition courses, or have parents who study nutrition are healthy because that is how they live. They don’t simply eat without documenting how much they are eating because they don’t want to invite cancers and other health problems.
Most young politicians don’t have a background in science, business, economics, and computer science. As a result, they are unable to tell people how to spend less money on food, health care, travel, and family.
For example, my knowledge of food science and nutrition allows me to eat the correct amounts of foods daily that contain required grams of proteins and fiber, the required milligrams of foods containing calcium, potassium, and magnesium, the required micrograms of foods containing vitamin A to prevent weak immunity, weak eyesight that causes blindness, skin problems, kinky hair, and so on.
That type of educational knowledge allows people to save money on health care because they don’t get sick nor purchase prescription drugs. They also live longer. They eat food as medicine needed.
My grandmother lived to age 98 in New Orleans and never visited the doctor. Her father was a freed slave from Virginia and lived to age 99 and did not visit doctors because they were not available.
I am near 90 and visit my Medicare primary physician to give him a copy of my blood work that’s normal because I know how to eat the foods the body needs to prevent serious illnesses. I don’t wear eyeglasses because I eat 740 micrograms of vitamin A foods such as sweet potato or carrots, spinach, etc. daily for good eyesight. Vitamin A foods prevent lots of illnesses because they strengthen the immune system and slows down aging. My kidneys are functioning normally because I eat the correct grams of protein for my weight each day. Blood pressure is normal because I don’t eat much salt, sweets, processed foods, and junk. We eat real foods such as fruits, vegetables, fish, chicken, turkey, grains, beans, nuts, dairy, etc., as suggested for adequate nutrition for good health. Potassium foods in the amount of at least 2,500 milligrams per day will keep the body functioning properly to prevent numerous health problems. The same for magnesium foods to help the body to function as it should.
I am a retired high school teacher with a bachelors in business, a master’s in education/school guidance and counseling, and 36 graduate hours beyond the master’s in computer science. I have been reading the Merck Medical Manual since age ten because my grandmother owned a copy that she purchased in 1918 when my mother was born because black people did not have doctors.
The Merck can be downloaded from the internet for medical reference in the classroom or at home for personal reference. It is available in all languages and sold all over the world since it was published in 1899, and upgraded every few years. There are copies for caring for animals, for children, for elderly, and so on. All students should learn how to take care of themselves.
There are complaints about low math and reading scores among public school students.
The trick to increase math and reading scores is to hire good tutors and put some money by that low-performing student’s name that he or she will receive after their goal is reached. Tell the parent how to feed the students to stimulate the brain to bring about memory and comprehension skills. Those scores will come up because that child wants that money.
The same applies to motivating children to be great, law abiding citizens….rewards.
