The city of Chicago is at anytime experiencing any number of serious crisis i.e. crime, budget crisis, school board issues; and the mayor with his city paid entourage, is prancing around the Parliament Building without a care in the world. He is not attempting to get English business. Even he knows that such efforts would be futile. Instead, he is rewarding himself for a half-ass job after 18 months in office. A few days off is fine. Eleven days is clearly excessive.
- Did he bring back any business?
- Where did he stay while there?
- Did he and his entire staff fly first class?
- Did this trip cost the city any money? How much?
- Did he bring back any business?
Chicago is respected as a great American city with some of the most talented architects in the world who designed fabulous buildings around the Great Lake Michigan that house great business services that employ the most qualified and well-trained employees to continue to make the city great for all.
ReplyDeleteTherefore, the mayor is allowed to have a day off to visit a city of his choice to enjoy a favorite sports team because he was not elected to find and bring business to the city, nor to create and supply business because that is not his area of expertise. He works with the City Council members that help to keep the city great.
I noticed tourists taking pictures of the beautiful Trump building located on Wacker Drive in downtown Chicago that sits among numerous skyscrapers near the Great Lake Michigan and thanked God for such talented and gifted people who worked together and planned the city.
Note that I arrived in Chicago in 1954 at age 17 during the Great Migration from New Orleans, and upon my arrival at Chicago’s Union Station, I noticed that there were no very tall buildings and Trolley street cars on tracks were used for transportation.
The terrible odor of slaughtered livestock dominated the Bridgeport neighborhood where the mayor lived because the stockyards were housed nearby. Chicago was called the place with the terrible odor.
Today I am age 88 and walked along Wacker Drive with the tourists as they were taking pictures of the beautiful Trump building and praising the beauty of the great city of Chicago on the great Lake Michigan where numerous sky high buildings of great architectural designs were completed by the most talented people.
