Defense secretary hospitalized for "non-Covid shot" complications

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin went into the hospital on Monday for complications following an elective surgery, the Pentagon announced Friday.

He has been discharged and is expected to resume his full duties Friday evening, Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said in a statement.

“It was an evolving situation, and taking privacy into account,” Ryder told Military Times of the decision not to disclose Austin’s health status when he was first hospitalized.

Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks has been filling in where necessary, Ryder said.

“The deputy has conducted some routine business for department on his behalf,” he said.

The intentional lack of public disclosure comes in stark contrast to another senior leader’s recent hospitalization, when Marine Commandant Gen. Eric Smith suffered a heart attack in October.

In that case, the Marine Corps announced the event in an email to reporters the following day.

The Pentagon, citing privacy, did not disclose the elective surgical procedure that led to Austin’s complications.

I know you won’t approve this because you’re a coward and like to censor opposing points of view. The title of this is very misleading and stinks of misinformation. Nowhere in this article is there mention of Covid 19 innoculation. Stop drinking the koolaid.

Re Covid vaccinations, according to medical experts, vaccines don’t work as expected on older people which explains why thousands of elderly died after receiving those Covid injections and boosters. Do the research because the immune system changes with aging and does not work as well for elderly…instead of helping, that vaccination might kill you.

I am not going to be critical of 19th ward politicians. They tend to do the best job they can with very limited resources, and don't need to be beaten up. In fact, people should be helping them as they are among the last "normal" leaders in Illinois.

I am keeping the 19th Ward Chicago name because of the rich blog history going back to 2010 and because there is a ready-made base of similar-thinking readers. For now on, the 19th Ward of Chicago will be mainly a point of reference, an observation deck if you will. A place where allot of good-natured, normal-thinking people still live and can safely view the dysfunction overtaking America. Write whatever you want about whatever or whomever you want. Just keep it true and not vulgar.

At all times, we am going to comply with Blogspot's community standards. We have seen what happens when there is not such compliance.

We will never publish threats of physical violence or baseless attacks on people or institutions.
