Chicago police officer shot in Gold Coast

CHICAGO - A Chicago police officer was shot and hospitalized Monday morning in the Gold Coast neighborhood.
The shooting took place around 5 a.m. near State and Walton streets.
The police officer was shot in the leg and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where they were listed in good condition.
A weapon was recovered from the scene of the shooting.
There has been no word from police on exactly how the shooting transpired.
