Why we need term limits

83-year-old Nancy Pelosi on Friday announced she is running for reelection.

Pelosi announced her reelection bid with a ridiculous statement.
“Now more than ever our City needs us to advance San Francisco values and further our recovery,” Pelosi said on X. “Our country needs America to show the world that our flag is still there, with liberty and justice for ALL. That is why I am running for reelection — and respectfully ask for your vote.”

Pelosi won't leave D C for the same reason embezzlers don't take time off.

There should be term limits. Too many politicians want to sit and do nothing but get rich. It is normal to get old, retire, and enjoy life. It is great to travel, get a hobby, and spend time with the grandkids.

It is a blessing to live to reach age 80 and beyond. As we age our brain may play games with us and cause improper decision making like continuing to work while you are suffering from burnout which is the case with Ms. Pelosi.

Please retire and give a younger person the opportunity to fill that position. Enjoy your retirement by traveling, finding a hobby, spending time with family, and so on.

The theme of this blog has changed. We are now headed into a period of extreme political and economic troubles. We want to increase everyone's awareness and show them how to weather the storm. We are going to begin including articles and videos on prepping (food, water, shelter, medicine, self-defense,) basic economics and general SHTF lifestyle changes.

I am not going to be critical of 19th ward politicians. They tend to do the best job they can with very limited resources, and don't need to be beaten up. In fact, people should be helping them as they are among the last "normal" leaders in Illinois.

I am keeping the 19th Ward Chicago name because of the rich blog history going back to 2010 and because there is a ready-made base of similar-thinking readers. For now on, the 19th Ward of Chicago will be mainly a point of reference, an observation deck if you will. A place where allot of good-natured, normal-thinking people still live and can safely view the dysfunction overtaking America. Write whatever you want about whatever or whomever you want. Just keep it true and not vulgar.

At all times, we am going to comply with Blogspot's community standards. We have seen what happens when there is not such compliance.

We will never publish threats of physical violence or baseless attacks on people or institutions.
