City of Chicago is in "secret" negotiations with Amazon for the sale of Midway Airport

this is supposed to be secret

Discussions include an expansion of the airport footprint and construction of two runways that are "747 capable".

Southwest Airlines will acquire more gates at O'Hare and relocate everything
Largest warehouses in the world will be built
Central Ave. between I-55 and 65th St. to be closed, widened and used exclusively by Amazon
I-55 to be widened from I-294 to Dan Ryan
Deal could be inked soon with development time frame of five years

I am not going to be critical of 19th ward politicians. They tend to do the best job they can with very limited resources, and don't need to be beaten up. In fact, people should be helping them as they are among the last "normal" leaders in Illinois.

I am keeping the 19th Ward Chicago name because of the rich blog history going back to 2010 and because there is a ready-made base of similar-thinking readers. For now on, the 19th Ward of Chicago will be mainly a point of reference, an observation deck if you will. A place where allot of good-natured, normal-thinking people still live and can safely view the dysfunction overtaking America. Write whatever you want about whatever or whomever you want. Just keep it true and not vulgar.

At all times, we am going to comply with Blogspot's community standards. We have seen what happens when there is not such compliance.

We will never publish threats of physical violence or baseless attacks on people or institutions.
