The electorate has been described by our leaders as a "basket of deplorables", "garbage" and "scoundrels". Besides that, they do truly care.
Trust me when I tell you that this is the prevailing attitude among a majority of our political leaders. Dat's why they call them the "Elite" don't you know.

He is so swell
communism doesn't bother him as much as the concept of free thought
Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin to reintroduce Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act, because the citizens need to be taught how to behave
Chicago and the state of Illinois has the worst representation in Congress. Basically I'd call them squatters, sitting on the sidelines, doing nothing to improve the lives of the people who elected them. Political grandstanding, Duckworth for one term, and Durbin for one term too many.
Those of us who still live in the city have witnessed a deterioration in the quality of life for ALL of us, regardless of race. Crime is rampant, the tax base has had enough and is shrinking, moving to more friendly environments business and tax wise. The governor has been hiring, and paying for programs he favors out of his own pocket. Wait a minute. Paying for programs he wants or advocates out of his own pocket? Think about that. If an idea for a program, or a law or a new policy were a great idea, why would it have to be bought, as the governor recently tried with his graduated income tax.
Early on in the pandemic, Pritzker would make frequent appearances on left leaning cable news networks, always pointing a finger at Trump, saying there's been no cooperation/help for Illinois coming from Washington. And yet the Army Corp of Engineers assembled a 3000 bed treatment facility in McCormick Place in a little over a week. For our governor who cried wolf, that facility treated less than 50 covid patients.
His daily press conferences, always reference the data and science, and his shut downs of businesses, restaurants and other facilities restricted everyone but himself and his family. Everything shut down, social distancing and masks were required for Illinoisans unless you took it upon yourself a dispensation that allowed rioting, looting, arson, aggravated assault and other part one crimes that our States Attorneys office and City's Corporation Counsel declined to prosecute.
After 8 months the City decided it was time to suspend payments to teachers who don't show up in person to teach. This after caving in to the CTU demands for a contract before school began in the fall of 2019, where the school year abruptly halted last March and the teachers have been drawing salaries for a remote learning program that can boast less than 35% student participation.
To summarize, the pandemic is an unknown wild card that pushed common sense to the back burner. Adding to the hysteria on a daily basis is the hand-wringing incompetence of Illinois political elites who quote data and science and consolidate every citizen in the state who dies as being a Covid statistic. Some data and some science huh?
CUCK
