Everyone knows dirt on Roberts. He had written the (would've been) majority opinion holding that Obamacare was a tax and thus unconstitutional. But that weekend the rumors swirled all about how he could lose his 2 adopted Irish children for illegally adopting them without going through an agency (which is crime).
Come Monday morning, Roberts flipped flopped and now authors the (now majority) opinion that Obamacare was legal. Scalia was so pissed he left Roberts as the author of the dissenting (and formerly majority) opinion. Thus, it became the only SCOTUS decision I know of where the same judge wrote both the majority and dissenting opinions. But, Roberts kept his kids.
Short while later, Scalia was found with a pillow over his face in a hunting lodge. Anyway, this is all common knowledge in the DC social circles.
Blackmail continues to gridlock Washington.
