Rep. Johnson seems to me completely detached from reality. This is too uncomfortably close to the incendiary tone of "Crush the cockroaches!" or "Cut the tall trees!" Everyone, black and white, needs to step back from this. If none of us do, though, and it is allowed to pass relatively unchallenged with the gentle slap on the wrist that the stripping of committee titles entails, then woe be all of us. For Republicans, the scene might indeed turn ugly: "We will not STRIKE a blow. We will RECEIVE them."
