Then President Preckwinkle thanked Sheriff Dart for his cooperation and Sheriff Dart graciously accepted her gratitude. Dart then took a bow and the county board came to their feet with bravo and applauded. Just then, the doors to the chamber opened and the sounds of the Mt. Carmel marching band could be heard as the Mt. Carmel football team and cheerleaders surrounded Dart, hoisted him onto their shoulders and carried him back to his office, all the while the cheerleaders chanted give me a "D", give me an "A", give me an "R", Give me a "T", what do you got? .........

plan to ride out COVID-19 stormCook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle on Thursday recommended cutting 659 vacant positions — 300 of them in the sheriff’s office. County health officials are eying up to 130 layoffs, but hoping the final number is half that.
Why don't they start with the school teachers? Oh no, that would make sense.
