President Trump, our city needs help

  • we have a mayor who is extremely hostile about everything.
  • we have a mayor who is extremely hostile to the city's police department.
  • we have a mayor who caters to the criminal element.
  • we have a mayor who has no experience running anything.
A dozen or so U.S. Army rifle companies stationed near downtown chicago for the next 6 months or so, should do the trick. We don't want to wind up being a Portland.

Watching Chicago's criminal element playing out on national TV, and hearing the mayor, once again repeat her "this is not acceptable" line, I couldn't help but feel embarrassed for our city. Growing up in the 60's and having college aged kids, I go the extra mile to avoid unloading my bias on them. News coverage depicting looters, running from stores, loaded down with merchandise stolen from display cases, clothing racks along with the wide screen TV's stripped from their boxes to enable them to fit in the back seats of their cars was more than appalling. The mayhem depicted on the news looked like "Supermarket Sweep" or coverage of Black Friday sales the day after Thanksgiving. But the bigger question after seeing all this is "in what world is all of this thievery considered OK? One hundred arrests, and estimates of over 500 looters, all supposedly linked via social media make this a massive criminal conspiracy, one that the current states attorney will make every effort to plea bargain these cases to continue the Soros blueprint of criminal justice.
After the previous wilding of downtown, merchants just restarting their businesses after massive theft and vandalism got this second dose and now serious questions remain if they'll decide to reopen. The financial cost are almost immeasurable, especially when you attempt to factor the cost of lost business, tourism, conventions and overall avoidance of an unprotected downtown Chicago.

To summarize briefly, these criminals have put a noose around the city. None of them are old enough to recall the destruction of the West side business district along Madison that never returned after the
torching it received in 1968. Political correctness has strangled the integrity of the current crop of politicians entrusted to lead Chicago, to make it prosper and protect its citizenry. All of the above infuriates me even though I suffered no material loss. Ask yourself if you'd like to take your spouse downtown for dinner. Factor in the safety factor of being car-jacked, mugged, shot or sexually assaulted. Remember how Rahm and now Lori refer to Chicago, as a "welcoming city"? Its a you're welcome that deserves a "no thank you response". If you're still a Chicagoan the next time you go to the polls, remember these horrible days when a candidate tries to bullshit you into believing they've done a good job. You know who they are, you probably voted for them last time. And that should really be the last time.

I would enjoy you comments much more if they weren't extremely long. I lose interest after the first 3 or 4 sentences.

And then there was a man who made a short story long. Everyone soon fell asleep before they finished reading the long short story.
