Questions grow over Pritzker’s ties to COVID-19 testing companies
As Illinois surges in COVID-19 testing, there are growing questions about Governor JB Pritzker's ties
to companies providing coronavirus tests.
CHICAGO - As Illinois surges in COVID-19 testing, there are growing questions about Governor JB
Pritzker's ties to companies providing coronavirus tests.
The governor says he has put his fortune in a blind trust, but now some of the companies the Pritzker family has invested in may be making money off the pandemic.
“It is shameful,” said Illinois GOP Chairman Tim Schneider.
Schneider says The Pritzker Group, which is an investing firm, is connected to at least two companies creating COVID-19 tests.
The governor says he has stepped down from his position at his family’s venture capital company and no longer makes investing decisions.
“Well, as you know, the very definition of a blind trust is that it's blind,” Pritzker said Tuesday. “I really have been uninvolved for three years so if there's any anything like that, I would not know about it.”
Neither company in question have contracts with Illinois, but Cue Health was awarded a federal contract for testing worth $13 million.
David Greising with the Better Government Association says this was bound to happen with Pritzker’s connections to companies.
"Nothing illegal,” Greising said.
This comes as the governor says when it comes to testing, out of the most populous states, Illinois is now testing more residents per capita and that we may be on the other side of the peak.
“May be heading downwards now again as with more and more days behind us, we can follow and see, is this a blip or is it…really consistently going down,” said Dr. Ngozi Ezike, the director of the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The governor says whether or not we really are coming off the peak, all four regions in Illinois look like they are on track to move to Phase 3 of his reopening plan in ten days.
Pritzker has soon much money that even the BGA is making excuses for him. Nothing illegal my ass.
If this is true, we have a giant problem.
ReplyDeleteKeep voting DemocRAT.....
ReplyDeleteWhat totally amazes me is that everyone complains abut the Democrats in the city, the county the state and the federal level. Sadly the voters are so stupid they vote the same idiots in every single time.
ReplyDeleteTake it from one of the multitude of former 19th ward members.
If the people in the 19th ward voted straight republican in a General Election when Hynes had the title of Ward Committeeman granted to him by Joyce. Hynes would have had a massive heart attack and Ed on Monday nights would jumped out a window somewhere.
Then Hynes would look inept to the other Democratic Committeemen.
The other thing that shows how stupid the voters are is that not one of the knows how to get rid of Madigan.
Here you go, how to get rid of Mike Madigan as Speaker of the Illinois House. Have every body in every State Legislative District vote in the Republican Candidate in each District at the General election in November. Then when the new legislature meets in January the first thing they do is elect a Speaker in the House. In Madigans case they have a rubber stamp all these years. It did actually happen one in early 1990's.
THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN VOTE THE SPEAKER IN OR OUT IS THE HOUSE OF STATE REPS IN SPRINGFIELD
If the people voted 75% for Hurley's Republican rival and 75% for Cunningham's Republican rival YOU WOULD SEND A POWERFUL MESSAGE TO THE 19th WARD DEMS. Trust me. You can even pull a Democratic Ballot in the Primary and vote against the wards choices.
The biggest problem with this idea is that in most state legislative districts, the Republican candidates chosen to run against the democratic incumbent is usually put up by Madigan. He gets their petitions circulated and on the ballot and that usually takes care of anyone running against the incumbent. He sometimes puts up democratic candidates to drain votes from democratic challengers to the incumbents too.
DeleteFollow the money. one of the Pritzker Companies is called ProAmtech. ProAmtech supplies seeds, packaging and other products required to cultivate Marijuana. one of Pritzker's first priorities was the legalization of Marijuana.
ReplyDeleteThe arrogance of this bloated boob is breathtaking! I can’t wait until Trump wins re-election and a revamped FBI takes a chunk out of his enormous ass!๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐บ๐ธ
ReplyDeleteNot ALL Democrats are bad, Oshea really is a good hardworking Alderman. I don't believe he is of the socialist/far leftist group. Does Hurley and Cunningham look out for the best interests of their districts? I don't believe they do. 1 is a sheep and the other is drunk on power. It's up to the voters of their districts to organize and out work these 2 obructionists, they are very vulnerable as the machine will be obsolete when the next election comes around. I will be putting forth my efforts and time this next go around to the challengers of both of Cunningham and Hurley's opposition. I have already begun to build an army of volunteers willing and eager to participate.
ReplyDeleteAlways follow the money.......
