Illinois has the nation's most strict lock-down regulations. Why? What is driving Pritzker? Are these edicts for our own good or is there another darker reason? |

Cracks Appear in Illinois
Elected sheriffs are starting to refuse to enforce Fatass's Executive Orders, seeing as how they aren't actual laws passed by a legislative body:
- Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain issued a news release this morning (Thursday, May 14, 2020) stating his position that the Sheriff’s Office will not take enforcement action against any person or entity that violates Gov. JB Pritzker’s stay-at-home order and other executive orders.
Hain said members of the community are becoming “anxious to return to some normalcy,” and the Sheriff’s Office has received numerous inquiries about how it will respond to apparent violations of the governor’s executive orders.
“It is clear that deputies do not have immunity if they attempt to enforce the orders, and there is no legislated law that applies to the violation of the orders,” Hain said. “Therefore, sheriff’s deputies will not be taking enforcement action against any one person or entity for order violations, without the issuance of a judicial order.
Hain said U.S. Attorney General William Barr made a clear statement that the Constitution is not suspended in a state of emergency.
- Opposition to Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker's coronavirus shutdown has intensified across parts of the suburbs and beyond, as elected officials try to sever their fates from that of Chicago and Cook County.
Officials in some towns and counties have asked to be considered separately from the big city, arguing that they have many fewer cases and deaths from COVID-19, and deserve to reopen businesses and gatherings sooner.
Grundy County Sheriff Ken Briley went a step further, saying he was refusing to enforce the governor's executive order. He said he had neither the authority nor the desire to cite or arrest people for holding weddings or graduation parties.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are not Cook County," Briley wrote on the sheriff's Facebook page. "We are a rural community who believes in freedom, the rule of law, and (we) support the Constitution."
You might think that this is a big deal...and it is. But guess who isn't covering this?
If you click on the links we provided, you'll notice that these are not mainstream media stories. These are small town papers covering willful disobedience to an out-of-control executive branch and unconstrained by the legislature or the courts. The big name media won't touch this at all because they're in the pocket of the Illinois combine.
Someone posted a comment that this is solely the reason that Madigan is about to have Putzker call the legislature back into session. Not a single bill having to do with the COVID "pandemic" will be permitted to get near the floor for votes however. This session is simply to give away power to Putzker so that his one-man-rule has a veneer of legitimacy, granted by the current super-majorities in Springfield.
We salute these Sheriffs as true patriotic Americans and hope more follow their examples.
UPDATE: California, too, with a good zinger:

UPDATE: California, too, with a good zinger:
- Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims said Tuesday that she would not be able to enforce Gov. Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home orders because she was too busy re-arresting accused criminals set free under the state’s new “zero-dollar bail” policy.
Really outside of Cook County the rest of the state is doing very well with the exception of a hot pocket down by East St.Louis. There is absolutely no reason for this nonsense any longer. Those who want to stay quarantined should do so without effecting everyone else. We need to quit trying to protect people who don't want to be protected
ReplyDeleteThis balloon head props himself up every date talking about data and science. When you skew the numbers by insisting on counting every possible death, from whatever cause, as a victim of the virus, and then get up in front of the cameras and scold anyone questioning his assertions but providing no real statistics he creates the argument about inadequacies in the federal government response. Meanwhile the business of state government and its responsibilities get a pass for doing NOTHING. Only 10 states have not established re-opening dates. Pritzker isn't smart enough to devise any strategy to keep the state closed. The constant moving of the goal posts is something I suspect is devised by Madigan or somebody else who knows how to pull the strings of state government. Consider, as many are wising up, about the original shut down premise, flattening the curve. Then it pivots to testing. then add a few more weeks to developing a vaccine. Increased testing allows the mortality numbers to be fudged with. Extending the shut down is a hefty (no pun intended) gamble. Extending the shutdown by executive order can backfire, but not harm the likes of Madigan who must have Pritzker bullshitted into thinking it demonstrates leadership. So during the week, Pritzker gets up there expounding on his sympathy for the hardships of the taxpayers, tosses the ball off to the pediatrician from Oak Park if he gets a question he wants to dodge. And then come the weekends, he's off to the Sunday morning national talk shows trashing Trump.
ReplyDeleteThe hard facts are this. While 80% of the country have dates to re-open, Pritzker waffles, threatening business owners and law enforcement agencies with "consequences to their actions", but having no concrete plans to reawaken the state. All taxpayers can see is that they're going to get pounded by the time everyone wises up to Pritzker with his "emergency spending" and executive orders.
Bottom line is there are no breakdowns of those who've lost their lives to pre-existing conditions, there are no numbers presented of those who tested positive but recovered. He increases testing numbers to inflate the numbers he can report having contracted the disease to give the impression the virus is spreading. Other states have thoughtful responses to the disease include "herd immunity". As the season shifts into warmer weather when the virus dies off, these "sky is falling" responses by the governor fly in the face of previous successful responses to other viruses. Staying in? Wearing the mask? Time to look around and realize the consequences of your own actions Governor. Not everyone in the state has a trust fund to fall back on or three or four other residences they can flee to when the state you're supposed to be leading is being flushed down a toilet like one of your humongous turds.
That is an enlightened individual.
DeletePritzker should be in jail for tax fraud!
