William J. Kelly started this petition to The Citizens of Illinois
On March 13, 2020, President Trump declared a national emergency over the coronavirus. Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker failed to issue a stay-home order for Illinois residents until March 20th. The Governor ordered the shutdown of restaurants and bars on March 15th yet he opened the polls for the Illinois primary election on March 17th in violation of social distancing rules. He closed retail stores and services during the stay-at-home order imposed on March 20th yet deemed wealthy Cannabis operators
and their dispensaries “essential businesses.” Under Gov. Pritzker’s reign, recreational weed went from illegal to "essential" in three months while Illinois restaurant and retail store owners now face bankruptcy.
Gov. Pritzker has failed to eliminate the Illinois sales tax through 2020 to save Illinois businesses and residents. Our tone-deaf Governor scolds Illinois residents for taking walks yet has released hundreds of prisoners without testing them for deadly COVID-19. Gov. Pritzker has failed our Illinois citizens over and over again. We, the people of Illinois, who signed this petition, want the Governor to be recalled from office and forced to resign his duties effective immediately.

- Gov. J.B. Pritzker's administration has withdrawn the emergency rule it adopted Friday that made it a crime for owners of certain businesses to operate in violation of executive orders he has issued in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
State public health officials confirmed the change Wednesday at a meeting of the Illinois General Assembly's Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, or JCAR, which consists of six Democrats and six Republican. A vote by eight members of the 12-member committee would have been required to overrule the emergency rule.
The public health rule change filed Friday made it a class A misdemeanor — punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine — for owners of bars and restaurants to allow indoor consumption, for fitness and health clubs to allow customers on site, or for barbers, cosmetologists and other "non-medical personal care services" to provide on-site services.
Due to begin at 10:30 a.m., the meeting was delayed by nearly three hours as Democratic lawmakers met behind closed doors. According to Rep. Tom Demmer, the Pritzker administration agreed to repeal the rule in response to "significant opposition" from members of the joint committee.
We weren't the only people encouraging readers to call, write, send telegrams. It was a concerted effort by many many more people than our limited reach. A very good job all around. But we need everyone to pay attention and continue to pay attention, because dictators hate to be thwarted.
This is only a single battle.
This is only a single battle.
Lieutenant Governor Julianna Stratton would be much better. 😁
