taking orders? from the DNC?
By Mike Flannery
CHICAGO - Citing progress against the coronavirus, the White House is eager to end the nationwide shutdown crippling the US economy.
But Illinois Governor JB Pritzker says, not so fast!
The president sounded supportive when asked about Florida Governor Ron Desantis possibly re-opening his state's public schools.
“Ron Desantis, I’ve read where he's thinking about opening up the schools earlier than the date, the
end of the month. I'd have to look at the numbers. But again, I like to allow governors to make decisions without overruling that,” Trump said.
Several other states have already canceled the rest of the semester for their public schools. The governor of Illinois said he'd allow schools here to re-open, only if widespread testing is available to determine who has COVID-19 and who does not.
Pritzker remains worried about a repeat of what happened with the 1918 pandemic, when a second wave of infection proved far deadlier than the first.
“There’s also the threat of a peak in the fall. Doctors will tell you that, if you look back at the Spanish Flu, other pandemics, and even if you look at other countries that opened up after they've peaked, that you see a resurgence of cases. Because we don't have a vaccine,” he said.
Gov. Pritzker said he's likely to make a final decision by April 30 about whether to re-open schools in Illinois.
It's a valid concern. South Korea's recovered patients tested positive again, for COVID-19. π€π·
ReplyDeleteTrue, you can get it again. Its just like the common cold and flu, you can get it over and over.

DeleteEverything pretty much stopped 50+ years ago.
DeleteAny patients at McCormick place or metro south yet? Any hospitals run out of beds, or on bypass? This “pandemic” could be way overblown by the DNC and the news media as an attempt to hurt president Trump. Time will tell us all who really cares about the American voter.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it’s all a conspiracy against Trump. Mope
DeleteNO the virus is not a conspiracy against Trump...BUT it is almost impossible to not notice the virtual glee the media is taking in reporting sudden downturn in the economy...and like our old jerk mayor Rahm once said ...never let a good crisis go to waste....they want to clamp down out of desire to hurt the economy....Anything to keep Trump out a second time....and fear that they will be blamed....they are scum...so we expect nothing more from pigs but grunts.
DeleteSo what you’re saying is that every country on this big round earth and their media are conspiring against Trump? Okay, got it.
DeleteEvery study undertaken regarding the media coverage of Trump is between 85 and 97 percent negative coverage....if you do not understand that, then you will not understand the prior post...NO not every country is conspiring and that is not what that post says...it does say that much of the media is glad to report and yes...exaggerate the influence of this virus. And in my opinion the post makes a point.
DeleteWhat happened to the two million possible deaths in the US? Fauci and Birx dropped that number down to 100 to 200 thousand in like five days....hmmm. Now it is under 100k....maybe even under 55k....and the fact is that nothing this draconian has been done in recent history. If we have a recession from this many more people will actually take their own lives due to economic ruin. It is estimated that during the last recession over 15 million suicides were attributed to the recession. So nothing happens in a vacuum. One extreme action can create ripple effects all over and in many ways that could have been foreseen and many more that were unforeseen. But if you believe you are getting the straight truth from ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, MSNBC and Yahoo news, Wowway news, twitter and the endless list of liberal leaning media, then nothing would convince you. Go put your mask back on, spray your lysol, wash your hands 100 times a day, and get back under your bed covers. Meanwhile let millions of Americans get back to work.
