Bill Cunningham is elected the President Pro Tempore of Illinois and comes out against term limits of any type, just ask him

The President Pro Tempore of the state of Illinois

State Sen. Bill Cunningham (D-18th), who represents Beverly,  Mt. Greenwood and points beyond was named President Pro Tempore of the Illinois Senate on Jan. 28 by state Senate President Don Harmon.
According to a news release, in his new role, Cunningham “will serve as a most trusted advisor to the Senate president and a senior member of his leadership team.”
Cunningham said local residents will benefit from his appointment in various ways suchas:
  • Discounts at the Museum of Science and Industry
  • Discounts on admission to Mt. Carmel football games
  • Police and Fire retirees will now get the floating decimal to stop floating on their pension checks
  • Free pass to be presented to the Illinois State Police for speeders (limit one per resident)
  • President's Day discounts at Target, Kohls, Sears and Amazon
  • A new honest approach to government, no more bullshit
  • CSX will now block 111th street less frequently
  • Residents of his district get to ride on his float at the South Side Irish parade
“I think one of the main benefits for my constituents is it places me into a better position to look out for the district,” Cunningham said, “and to make sure we get our fair share (and maybe more, to make up for the services we haven't received) of services from the state.”
Since 2013, Cunningham has represented the 18th District, which includes several city neighborhoods and southwest suburbs. The Mt. Carmel High School graduate has also served as an Illinois state representative. He is now in line to receive an even fatter 2d governmental pension. Cunningham points out that non of this would be possible if term-limits were in effect.
Harmon (who does't know why the recently Feds seized records and files from his law office) is a Democrat from Oak Park, was recently elected as Senate president by a 37-12 vote. He succeeded state Sen. John Cullerton, who served five terms as president and spent four decades in the General Assembly and is waiting to see what the Feds are going to do to him.
The Democrats currently hold a supermajority in both Illinois chambers where they can pass anything regardless of the righteousness of the proposal.
Cunningham said he will take a more active role developing legislative strategy and garnering support for certain legislative measures, tax increases and legislative pension enhancements, but not term limits.

I like all of the perks mentioned. That's exactly what we need; officials who bring home the bacon. Just kidding Lol. What college or university did he graduate from? I must have missed that. What is his profession other than the part time elected positions mentioned? Is he a pro-life democrat? It appears that there are more questions than answers. The swamp needs to be drained in Illinois!

Most Democrats are pro-choice aka anti-life.

Bill's website and Wikipedia page address your questions.

What I don't understand is why would Bill Cunningham attempt to make a big deal out of what is essentially no big deal. President pro tempore, he tried to make it all about him. I swear I want to vomit.

He must really think his constituents are dumb and naive. Somebody should run against this guy. He won't be the first big shot that lost because he started believing his own bs.

Cunningham could give two craps about the welfare of the people in his district. He is going to do everything he can to increase the state income tax next November. He doesn’t care about you.
