Dan Patrick: Jay-Z 'Pressured' Roger Goodell to Schedule Colin Kaepernick Workout

This Colin Kaepernick workout situation has been haphazard and it's hard to know exactly what to make from it. Beyond that, where did it come from? Dan Patrick has a source who believes Jay-Z was behind the decision for the NFL to grant him this workout:

Patrick said: "According to my source, Jay-Z said that he took a reputational bullet for the Commissioner when they had that press conference [with] his new role in the NFL. Social agenda. Social injustice. He was gonna help with the entertainment for halftime. All of this. My source said that Jay-Z was pressuring the Commissioner to do the right thing and have this workout for Colin Kaepernick."

Whether or not this is accurate that Jay-Z was the biggest reason for this workout, it's accurate that the hip-hop mogul did take a hit for his relationship with the Shield. Jay-Z was very publicly ripped by Kaepernick's former teammate Eric Reid, as well as by his girlfriend Nessa.

Whatever the case may be about how this event wound up happening, we now await to see if he will wind up employed by an NFL team as a result of it.

Roger Goodell showed the country what a moron he is after he whacked Adrian Peterson with two separate suspensions for the same thing. As you recall Peterson was criticized and suspended because he spanked his kid. So now he's doing his "give us Barabas" routine with Kapernick. I can't wait to see what the upshot is with the Cleveland Browns Myles Garrett helmet bashing incident.

I am not going to be critical of 19th ward politicians. They tend to do the best job they can with very limited resources, and don't need to be beaten up. In fact, people should be helping them as they are among the last "normal" leaders in Illinois.

I am keeping the 19th Ward Chicago name because of the rich blog history going back to 2010 and because there is a ready-made base of similar-thinking readers. For now on, the 19th Ward of Chicago will be mainly a point of reference, an observation deck if you will. A place where allot of good-natured, normal-thinking people still live and can safely view the dysfunction overtaking America. Write whatever you want about whatever or whomever you want. Just keep it true and not vulgar.

At all times, we am going to comply with Blogspot's community standards. We have seen what happens when there is not such compliance.

We will never publish threats of physical violence or baseless attacks on people or institutions.
