Running on her record!

Cook County's #1 Law Enforcement Official

Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx announces bid for re-election, this is not a joke.

CHICAGO - The top prosecutor in Cook County, Illinois, who was harshly criticized when her office suddenly dropped charges against actor Jussie Smollett, says she's running for re-election.

Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx says in a Tuesday news release she hopes to continue reforming the criminal justice system in the county including Chicago that she began implementing when she was elected in 2016.

The bid by Foxx, the first black woman to head the office, comes after a judge appointed a special prosecutor to examine why felony counts against the actor who had been charged with staging a racist and homophobic attack against himself last January were dropped. Foxx had recused herself after she had conversations with the actor's family.

Foxx's challengers include a former judge and two former prosecutors.

  1. The sad part is that even if her record is already worse than it is, I expect to see Double X running the SA's office for as long as she wants.

I was hoping a former mayoral candidate was going to run for this position, he would be a great Cook County States Attorney. Reinstating justice is what this city needs, reform has allowed more criminals out into the public to harm all of us.

Stating that she owns her mistake is not an explanation as to why she took political phone calls in regards to Smollette, calling the Superintendent of the CPD to push the case out of the CPD is also unethical.

Dear Ms Foxx, The only change the Cook County States Attorneys office needs to make in regards to your unethical conduct never happening again is by electing an ethical person to this office.
