About 3:58 p.m., officers saw Kersh drinking alcohol at a bus stop in the 800 block of East 79th Street and approached him, police said.
He became “irate” and licked the face of an officer and made verbal threats toward the officers, police
said. When the man spit in an officer’s eye and mouth, the officer performed an “emergency takedown,” according to police.
A 41-second video of the incident that was posted to social media shows Kersh facing a police SUV with an officer standing behind him when the officer picks him up off his feet and throws him to the ground. The man lies motionless in the street as other officers gather around him.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot called the video “very disturbing.”
Kersh remains in custody and is due in bond court Dec. 1.

Mayor Lightloafers is your typical Democrat, catering to the vocal minority while ignoring the silent majority.
ReplyDeleteThat video did not start at that point. The person filming began filming prior to the take down. Show the entire footage.
ReplyDeleteWish they would emphasize the prevalence of cell phone cameras in the police academy
ReplyDeleteBreak bystanders cell phones!
DeleteI see nothing wrong with the officers actions.
ReplyDeleteThe cop should have followed up with a slamming of his body on top of the guy who spit. Sort of like Moose Cho lock and Dick the Bruiser. The guy got what he deserved.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Yukon Moose worked for the City. Bureau of Electricity I believe. Lived and worked on the South East Side. Famously endorsed Ben's Auto Sales 5858 S. Western Avenue. This guy was the bomb. One of the best wrestlers from Chicago along with Dick the Bruiser and The Crusher. I was constantly adjusting the TV antenna trying to get Channel 26 in focus. Shoulda went down to the Amphitheatre I guess. Those were the days. What were we discussing again?
DeleteWhere was Mooses's bar...10th and Indianapolis blvd?
DeleteI bet lightfoot the clown would feel differently if someone spit in her face and her Police bodyguards body slammed individual?
ReplyDeleteOfficer is stupid to stop for open container of alcohol. He should be suspended for putting partners career in jeopardy.
ReplyDelete8 years with ISP, dont understand how or why officer performed take down move
ReplyDeleteWhat would you do if someone spit in your face?
DeleteThank god officer not working 022 on western Avenue. Officer would be exhausted from body slamming every person with a can of beer in his hand.
ReplyDeletePictured above: Chicago's newest millionaire. The only thing missing is a cap and gown.
ReplyDeleteThe officer was doing his job protecting the public!!
