SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Long-time Illinois Senate President John Cullerton announced Thursday he plans to retire.
Cullerton said he plans to leave in January, which is in the middle of his term. A spokesperson told
FOX 32 that Cullerton and his wife have been thinking about this ever since his cousin was indicted last summer, and a few other things happened last month, and then yesterday something else happened. And so goes 28 years in the state senate. He is going to help his wife take care of their grandchildren.
His legacy? A fine example of why we need term limits.
He has done such a good job for Illinois. I sincerely hope he doesn't have any legal problems.
ReplyDeleteHE IS A FAVORITE OF THE JOYCES
ReplyDeleteand why is that?
DeleteJust some jerk trying to start crap. Joyce family has nothing to do with Cullerton. Nothing.
Deletequit being a Joyce cheerleader. They dont want you doing that crap.
DeleteActually, the Joyces have strongly disliked the Cullertons. It's a Irish thing.
DeleteHe's a great Irish American.
ReplyDeleteWho will we have to raise our taxes now in Illinois?
DeleteFor his sake I hope it is just him wanting to retire, rather than leaving before the sh!t hits the fan
ReplyDeleteToo late. Shit hit, dude. Now you know why Lisa and Rahm got out.
DeleteIf Illinois had term limits this wouldn't mean a thing.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for a trifecta, Cullerton, Madigan and Ruth Bader Ginsburg all retiring soon.
ReplyDeleteThe Joyces and The Cullertons are fine Irish American families. May they enrich politics forever!
ReplyDeleteState Senator Kimberly Lightford is ready for the Senate presidency.
