CHICAGO - President Donald Trump has again broached the idea of freeing former Illinois governor and one-time "Celebrity Apprentice" contestant Rod Blagojevich from a Colorado federal prison, where he is in his seventh year of a 14-year prison term for political corruption.
Trump asked for a show of hands at a fundraiser at Chicago's Trump International Hotel of those who supported clemency for the 62-year-old Democrat. Most of the 200 to 300 attendees raised their hands, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing several people at Monday's event.
I would let him go, seven years is enough.
Blago will have served more time for a non violent crime than a murderer would in Illinois…..
ReplyDeleteRobert Mueller's FBI had recordings of Blago offering to sell the Senate seat and others offering to buy the Senate seat. For some reason, the wiretap was quickly shut down.
ReplyDeleteBlago, the seller, was charged. None of the buyers was charged. Many questions remain unanswered.
What's holding up Trump's Blago pardon?
ReplyDeleteHe was gonna get sentence commuted, not a pardon. Big difference.
DeleteThanks for the correction. What's holding up the sentence commutation?
