CTU and it's members have become the latest vehicle by which the Socialist seek to turn the proven American model of business / labor / government inside out. Make no mistake, this is a replay of Russia 1917. Whether the movement progresses or fizzles out depends on many other factors.
Meanwhile, this strike continues. It's not about the money (CTU members will not be insulted by such a suggestion). It's not about the children either. So what is it all about? Nobody is really sure. I have heard the following social justice issues are of great concern to the members:
- housing for the poor
- money for the poor
- a ban on plastic straws, fur, leather and Christmas trees within the Chicago city limits.
- a ban on fossil fuel powered vehicles by 2024
- the release of the Buloga whales at the Shedd Aquarium from captivity
If you want to hear more about these issues, I suggest you go to the CTU drunk fest which begins 2 pm every afternoon at Barraco's.
MEMO TO MAYOR LIGHTFOOT, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET RE-ELECTED NEXT TIME. YOU MIGHT AS WELL DO THE RIGHT THING AND TAKE CTU ON AND DO THE CITY AND THE NATION SOME GOOD. HALT ALL NEGOTIATIONS, GIVE THEM 10 DAYS TO GET BACK TO WORK. IF THEY HAVENT, FIRE THEM. AFTER THAT THEY CAN COME BACK ONLY AFTER THEY HAVE AGREED TO A 20% PAY CUT.
