purveyor of hate
justified it instead of standing up to it
During a speech Thursday night at St. Sabina, he asked everyone to stream it live on social media.
The Archdiocese of Chicago released the following statement regarding Farrakhan’s appearance at the church:
“The event involving Minister Louis Farrakhan at St. Sabina Parish is not sponsored by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Cardinal Cupich was notconsulted before Fr. Pfleger announced the event.
The framers of our Constitution included freedom of speech in the First Amendment because they knew that it was essential to a healthy democracy. Without this sacred right, injustice goes unchecked. This is precisely why it must never be abused. There is no place in American life for discriminatory rhetoric of any kind. At a time when hate crimes are on the rise, when religious believers are murdered in their places of worship, we cannot countenance any speech that dehumanizes persons on the basis of ethnicity, religious belief, economic status or country of origin. We are all part of the human family, and we owe it to one another, our children — and our creator — to act that way.”
No Catholic pulpit should be used encourage or justify hate of any type.
Donations will fall. More parishes will close.
ReplyDeleteThe "statement" by the Cardinal, is a lot of words that mean absolutely nothing. He needs to condemn the Nation of Islam cult leader, in the strongest terms. And he needs to discipline Pfleger for allowing the anti-semite in the pulpit of a Catholic church.
ReplyDeleteThe Cardinal has no backbone. Pfleger is not worried that he will suffer any consequences for his event. No one at the Archdiocese will answer any questions. They simply callers through to voice mail. These people are spineless.
And what amendment protects all the other amendments? The second amendment, which father faker hates, that amendment alone insurers his right to speak his nonsense in public.
ReplyDeleteYes but the Church isnt exactly "public". When a Priest lets someone speak at the pulpit - he is giving it in effect approval. That speech is not Catholic, or clearly not even Christian. But then neither is Father Faker.
DeleteThe "statement" by the Cardinal, is just a bunch of words that mean absolutely nothing. He needs to condemn the Nation of Islam cult leader, by name, in the strongest terms. I believe that Pfleger needs to be disciplined, as well. the Cardinal , as well as most of the Archdiocese leadership are spineless. They deserve any ridicule that comes their way.
ReplyDeleteBlacks don’t even “donate” to the catholic archdiocese so tell it like it is. Btw they only take they give back nothing.
ReplyDeleteI am a Roman Catholic. I am extremely embarrassed by these sexual perverts that have taken over the Church from Rome to Chicago, in all ranks.
ReplyDeleteThe Cardinal issued a different statement after he hears what f had to say. Sorry Cardinal, it was foreseeable. Makes me wonder who is running the archdiocese.
ReplyDeleteA recent article regarding the Pope being criticized by Roman Catholic scholars said the Pope has issued proclamations that run contrary to church doctrine. The also cited several Roman Catholic cardinals, among them Cardinal Cupich.
