IL HOUSE VOTES TO REQUIRE LGBTQ HISTORY FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS
SPRINGFIELD - Should persons your child reads about in history class be included in their studies simply because of how those historical figures chose to express his/her sexual identities?
Sixty of the 74 Illinois House Democrats believe Illinois public school students should be required to learn how lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders and persons of other sexual orientations contributed to the history of the United States. Sixty was the number needed
to pass HB 246 - and allow other Democrats to step off the floor to register an "NV," protecting them from fury of conservative-leaning districts or vote "No."

The bill moves to the Senate, where a super majority of Democrats control, and will most likely be signed into law by Governor Pritzker.
The measure as proposed applies - for now - to Illinois public schools.
The House sponsor and co-sponsors are Rep. Anna Moeller - Sara Feigenholtz - Lamont J. Robinson, Jr. - Sam Yingling - Kelly M. And we're hearing Republicans are trying to rebuild the party totally avoiding the social issues.
who even introduces legislation like this?
ReplyDeleteWho would vote for it???????????????????????????
DeleteHurley voted yes.
ReplyDeleteShe thinks this is good for the children?
DeleteWhy?
DeleteDemocrat values are not 60655 values.
ReplyDeleteAstonishing that 19th warders support Hurley.
ReplyDeleteIt's astonishing that Matt O'Shea supports Hurley.
DeleteNow, O'Shea supports Lightfoot.
DeleteInstead of voting on something as stupid as this, try concentrating on cutting state expenses. I know, remove all the toilets from the rest areas.
ReplyDeleteThe states broke, pension crisis has been looming for decades, infrastructure also crumbling for decades, opioid crisis out of control and this is what the people we elect to better our lives come up with. I won't be phobia shamed into believing this is relevant to the majority of taxpayers in our district. Majority rules right? Isn't that what democracy is all about? What did they contribute? STD's? Poppers? Leather chaps? What? Ok Matt, I'll vote in the general but not in the primaries. No way will I grease the slide for social issues I disagree with.
ReplyDeleteYou folks haven’t figured out that the Democratic Party gave up on the majority common working man as there are enough of the fringe (gays, blacks, illegals and their supporters) to keep them in power.
