FBI documents say Ald. Solis traded political acts for sex acts, Viagra, etc. Despite all that, he wants to go down in history as someone who did what he could to clean things up. For that I want to nominate him for a special award for honesty.

CHICAGO (Fox 32 News) - Sex, drugs and secret tapes at Chicago’s City Hall, according to new information from an FBI search warrant involving Alderman Danny Solis.
The documents offer the first explanation of why Alderman Solis decided to wear a wire for the feds. They also reveal that back in 2014, Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan was secretly recorded by the FBI.
The conversation reportedly centered on plans to build a new hotel at a lot in Chinatown. FBI documents show an associate of the developer secretly recorded Speaker Madigan for investigators during a 2014 meeting.
Now, five years later, Madigan says, “To my knowledge, I am not under investigation by the Office of the U.S. Attorney...."
Ald. Solis - Great American |
Tim Schneider is chairman of the Illinois Republican Party and also a great American.
“I think the speaker has said for decades that there's been a firewall between his business practice and
his actions as a public official. We see now that that's not the case,” Schneider said.
Solis showed up later at the meeting and it's unclear whether he was the actual target. The FBI documents also reveal that Solis began cooperating with the FBI after he was caught trading political favors at City Hall for sex acts at massage parlors, preferably with Asian women. He also exchanged deeds at City Hall for Viagra.
Solis resigned Tuesday as chairman of the Zoning Committee, but is still on the ballot for alderman.
“This is exactly what's wrong with Chicago politics. Alderman Danny Solis and Alderman Burke is exactly what we need to end,” said candidate for alderman Hilario Dominguez.
“As a community, we need to understand what he was doing. a hero for who, because obviously hew wasn't serving us,” said candidate for alderman Alex Acevedo.
FOX 32 left messages again at Alderman Solis's office Tuesday since the news broke last week. He's made no public remarks regarding his wearing a wire for the FBI.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel released the following statement regarding Solis’ resignation as chairman: “Alderman Danny Solis has recognized that he cannot effectively preside over the matters before the Committee on Zoning, Landmarks and Building Standards, and he has communicated with my office his intent to resign as Chairman. I commend him for making the right decision for the City Council and the City of Chicago.”
The Feds say they have 18,000 hours of recordings between Solis and whomever. Who you you think the Feds forget to get on tape? Combine that with the other two moles. Imagine how big this Federal operation is. There may be over 30 targets.
This thing is going to be brought to a boil after the election.
ReplyDeleteI would say the feds probably got whoever they wanted. They put together a list and had solis just go down the list until he had what they needed for a conviction. Mainly conspiracy and a little bit of mail fraud. Enough to send everyone away for 5 years and clean things up.

ReplyDelete18,000 hours of recorded conversations? Does that seem normal to you. That's like 750 days worth of tape? They could record non stop for 2 years and only have 730 hours of tape. These investigators are either inept or just perverted. Seriously unless there's a real ton of other stuff coming out, it seems improbable that someone would record non stop for more than two years worth of recording and be able to come up with something more than a horny 70 year old alderman who has to go to massage parlors because regular whores rub him the wrong way.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, it seems incredible. I think the initial media reports of 23 months were inaccurate. It seems that the recordings started in 2014. And I don't think the FBI agents are that inept. Are you serious?
DeleteImagine a trial where there are 30 defendants.
DeleteAny elected official that spoke with Ald. Solis about anything during the past 5 years, needs to be nervous.

DeleteIf you were an investigator, and collected more than 2 years worth of recordings, 18,000 conversations is what's been reported, wouldn't you think something conclusive would have come up in the first year. What is this, the Mueller investigation? So with all that on-going recording there had better been something more substantive that Madigan, in his law office, promoting his law firm's services or Solis soliciting Viagara so he can get off when he goes for a massage, or a barbecue at Oprah's farm. If you paid private investigators over a span of two plus years, and this is what you got, you'd be looking to get your money back.
More like a rat that’s going to snitch on his fellow crooks for less time in prison.
