I think its time to examine exactly how CSX got permissions to increase the train traffic like they did 10 or 12 years ago. What local officials approved it? Why did they approve it?
Any local politician that has accepted money from CSX should pay it back. WTF are they accepting money from a company like that. Its only for the purpose of buying influence.
This is serious. CSX has two lines crossing the ward. Hundreds of children cross these tracks every day while walking to school. Thousands of cars are crossing the tracks daily. Everyone has the right to trust that the safety equipment is functioning properly. Local leaders need to do something now.
I would believe that a politician was NOT in the pockets of CSX IF and only IF they did NOT take money from company. If O'Shea does take money? Then he is NOT fighting them. If he was fighting them they would not give HIM money. That is just common sense. I realize there is not much he can do but the Democrats control the ward, city, county, IL House of Reps., IL Senate, Governor, and most of the courts. IF Democrats actually cared like they constantly tell us that they "care" those underpasses would have been installed years ago. Sorry I don't buy it.

If CSX wants to run dozens of trains through the neighborhood they should be made to dig underpasses.
